I know what you mean, but at least they're quicker than MS when it comes to fixes for leaky security.

my main problem with firefox at the moment -

 

how do you guys know if you need a security update? wait for me to post? :D IE at the very least updates automatically when a patch is released.

i been using internet explorer up to now but so many virus's to catch , god bless firefox !!

I would have no idea if you didnt tell me Mike as I dont even know why Im using the thing. It was installed on my computer by my clever student daughter and her even brighter boyfriend who is in his final year at uni studying "robotics and cybernetics " . Thick old dad here just does wot he's told

Yep, some sort of update service along the lines of Windows update would be just ideal.

it does tell you when updates are needed, if any of your extensions have upgrades available then you get a green arrow at the top right of the screen, if the browser itself has updates available then you get a red arrow, click on it and it downloads the update, simple.
