As some of you know i blew my engine to bits on saturday, after my oil pump seized - i was totally gutted

 

Now managed to source an engine with 32000 miles, for £400 - well happy. Gonna get some Jun cams shipped and fitted too

 

Im over the moon - thought my z would be off the road for ages, looks like it will be a quick turn around now (2 - 3 weeks)

Were there any symptoms before your pump went? Was you oil pressure low? Just seems on here low oil pressure on the stock guage is ignored, just wondered if there gonna be few more engines go bang soon.

Yea oil pressure gauge was reading low - and i though - it will be ok

I advise everyone readingf low oil pressure to get it checked asap. It might last ok around town, but as soon as you give it some beans it will pack up - then starts the trouble

 

I was an idiot for not checking it, and im paying the price

Everyone....Aftermarket Water temp and Oil pressure gauges !! ;)

Well I am glad you got everything sorted mate.

 

Best thing that anyone can do is get an aftermarket oil pressure gauge fitted, or replace the stock sender so at least you will get a accurate reading. I have fitted oil temperature and oil pressure guages .. just my 2p worth.

Deffinatly both of those - my water temp gauge deosnt register anything above half - even when it nearly blew up.

I cant fit any more gauges in my ride - already got water temp, Nitrous press, and voltage - where else can i put them without looking like a tit in a cockpit lol

Last time Sarah was in my car she said it looked like a aircraft cockpit ... LOL

 

I then went on to explain why all the gauges were there and what purpose they served. Funny thing is she spent a lot of the time watching the gauges ...

 

She then said "Why do you have to keep accelerating so fast?"

Maybe, ill just wire datascan up to the dvplayer and have every gauge known to man loll
