After reading the 'whats fastest' thread, thought I'd try to find out what it was that made you decide to get a zed. (no slagging off other models though please ;) ).

Saw one about 12 years ago, and was instantly attracted. Did a bit of research on them, and found nothing but excellent reviews, all of them massively praising the car.

Could'nt afford one then along came other commitments, Wife, kids....needs for a cheaper to run, praticle car..etc meant it was'nt possible. Became a bit of a dream car for me.

But 12 years later and outside on my driveway is a shiney Black Zed now :D

timeless style, excellent technology (for a 10+ year old car on par with todays shite) drives like a maniac...best of all,,,everyone knows what a porsche looks like, or a ferrari...the Z however gets more attention...

But mines crashed so what do I know,,?

I had wanted one since I was 23 .. Had loads of sports cars, but this one is so special ...

I remember when i first ever sow the ZX and even after so many years i still Loved the look of the ZX even though newer Makes and Models were made to contend with the ZX.

Iv always dreamed to have a ZX as my family were always into jap cars and the ZED fitted the bill

It just makes me smile even though iv hardly driven my Zed much but i still Love em

Always liked them. Great shape. Not your everyday car. Plenty of horses for comparatively very little money. That about sums it up for me! ;)

I saw one in 1992 in a carpark while on holiday in Kerry with my then girlfreind.

Almost fell over when i saw it, i was around 20 at the time. I sat across from it and looked at it for 30 minutes, I hadn't a clue what engine or performance it had but it was................truly breathtaking.

It was around 60,000 Irish pounds to buy then so it was a total dream car I never forgot. I never saw another one till 2000..which became mine!!

I'm lucky that this was my dream car, which i could realise some years later. Boys dream of owning lambourginis and ferrari's, but they'll never sit in them, never mind own one.

The first one i saw was one i worked on many years ago and had to have one, saved like a bugger and spent 12K on a mint H plate one! Loved it from the day i had it till the day i sold it. If i found a mint one would have another.

Fell in love with the lookof the car in 1992.

Had a 200SX (S13) for five years (1999-2004).

Finally got a Z (NA) just over a year ago - it was the same price as a BMW 318 (coupe) of the same age so it seemed stupid not to.

saw one online browsing the autotrader went onto this forum and everyone else did the rest i now have a 300zx swb na BLACK (the best colour) to which i cant afford but hey i love the damn thing.

lovely piece of engineering and the smile gets bigger LOL

always wanted one

had a s13 for 2 years

remorgaged put 5k with it and bought my first zed

sold it 1 year latter started to cry

bought another one within 6 months

wont be with out one

Virtually the same here as well. My only difference is that mine came following my separation :D Most people have to sell a sports car in a divorce, I got one through it

when they 1st came out i was working for a VW garage, we also owned a Nissan garage which was opposite. 1 of the techs brought one into the workshop one day & i just had to have one :)

Many years ago I had a 240Z. crashed damaged in the rear end and tried but failed to get it on the road. then I had a deal for a 1985 (B) 300z targa top and found that it had rotten rusted rear suspension so got rid. Always wanted a real one since then. Was my favourite all time car but not a family car really? just found I had the money so got this one as my second car and am well pleased.

(and I dont care how fast it goes). It just looks the biz....

A rich bloke had one in our village when they first came out - and I affectionately tagged it as 'my car' (as you do), so I bought a poster of one and had it on my bedroom wall for years. Many years later, just browsing Auto Trader one day and spotted one, the Mrs convinced me I could afford to run it and hey presto - one happy Peach :D

Having had a custom 1972 beetle before the Z i was i need of power, went out in a mates cossie and decided turbo was the way to go, the insurance company laughed at me when I tried a quote on one! so my mate said about the GTO or 300 as the groups were lower. Had to be the 300 with rear wheel drive and T tops!

An old neighbour was the sales manager for a Nissan dealership, so he always brought one home, i was about 18 at the time and drove a XR2 :o but i asked if he'd take me out in it, but he chucked me the keys and the rest is history!!

Had a 240z and 3 260z,s this was 1988/9 i was in the z club at this time and got the magazine, and in a particle article the z32 was launched and it looked soooo good.

I vowed that one day i would have one and here i am.

I had never seen a zed before until 3 years ago (even though I was into performance cars) when a mate of mine pulled up outside my house in one. Well my jaw dropped at the sight of it, I was in awe of its amazing looks. Got inside it and the interior blew me away, and the performance goes without saying. I found it difficult to accept that it was a Nissan as initially I thought it was some sort of Lambo. Anyway after 1 year of hard saving I finally had enough money to buy one and have now owned it for 2 fun packed years.

I reposessed one in 1991 I think it must have been. It was a white 'H' plate car with leather and auto box and only 3 months old !!

Since I was running the insolvency department of the bank at the time I got to decide where we stored it :D :D :D :D

I managed to 'delay' the disposal for 3 months during which time I fell in love with it !

I did a check not so long ago and it's still 'alive' although not on this forum I don't believe.

But as others have said, kids and mortgages etc got in the way of owning one until 1999 when I bought mine of an import garage in Ripley. Still love it today and although I don't use it much I still get a big kick out of owning and driving it. I was filling up in a garage the other day when a guy in his late fifties commented that it was a stunning car !!

Mark

saw one in a nissan garage when me and my dad went to pick up my mum's new micra, they'd only been on sale in the uk for 2weeks.. so you can guess where i was while dad was signing the paper work, when we got home i said "i'm gona av one of them". and many years on finally got one. the only reget is that the only time i got my dad in it was when we took his ashes to scarbough. so he's in my thoughts regually when i drive it.

oh and they look great and are fast as fook

ive always wanted since i was 18

love the shape of them, the power, awesome car

i friend had one and took me out in it loads of times, fell in love with the car!!

it come up for sale when i was 25 (last year) so used all my savings and brought it

never regretted it

best thing i EVER did!!!

:)
