Was coming up to a set of traffic lights - wanted to go ahead.

But the ahead/left lane had lots of cars and the right turn lane was empty so I went in that.

When the lights went green I booted it and nipped in front of the 'straight ahead' queue - no worries.

Then the car suddenly went proper sideways and, like in any panic situation I just froze ... heading for a cyclist ... arrggghhhhh

I hit the brakes and it came back into line..... phew!

Bit of a close one - I'll be more careful in the wet from now!

Anyone else had a near miss recently?

Ive not had any near misses but ive had one actual hit. coming out of a T junction, raining like hell and too much power. back wheels smacked the kirb bent the wheels and fooked the HICAS. respect earnt BIG time.

my rear end has slipped out a few times accidentally (actually my Z's rear end has slipped out a few times accidentally :p )

worst thing to happen tho was one morning in an icy car park i decided to have a play. sent it to about 60 degree angle, then suddenly realised two big kerbs were coming up. couldnt do anything about it. BANG CRACK over the first one, BANG THUD over the second one. i just pulled up, shaking, not daring to get out of the car and see what's changed. luckily it was 'just' the HICAS, worsened the crack in the front bumper and damaged the steering.

been more careful from then on :slap:

Almost stuffed my car today

I think you can go to Jail for that!!

Seriously,

Roads are really greasy at this time of year, bit of heat to bring out all the crap and rain to make all the crap slippy (did that make sense  )

Sideways is fun, until it goes tits up!!

Anywoo, be careful out there you lot!!

:(:( Not in the Zed but on my motorbike :( got the old arse twitching i tell ya...........

so bloody embarrassing, recently had a row with a taxidriver , i just wanted to pull into the the MASSIVE EMPTY TAXIRANK for 30 seconds to pick up a pizza which was ready and paid for. He kept beeping at me and shaking his fist, so i just parked anyway just to annoy him.

When I came out , i gave him the two fingers, floored it , and hit a low set roundabout in the middle of the carpark........BANG... followed by crrrgggggjhhh.........followed by bang bang,

.............didn't do any damage, but the smokers outside the pub nearby gave me quite a large cheer.............

No but be careful 99 spec cars are rare as it is!!!!!! ;)

I wanted to demonstrate a powerslide to my girlfriend :slap: The bit of road I chose was a nice sweeping bend, so I was expecting the car to do what it did before which was step out a bit then come back in line.

Noooooooooooo we went completely sideways then fishtailed up the road, luckily on my side all the way. There was arm-waving and screaming- didn't feel to chuffed about the whole incident. I consider myself warned. And that's just the car! It's not a topic of discussion with my better half...

When I first test drove a Z32, I ended up fishtailing down the middle of the road and started to veer into the oncoming traffic.

I knew enough at that time to come off the gas and dip the clutch but the guy in the passenger seat shat himself.

Ever since that day I have been a little more careful in the greasy/wet/cold conditions.

Mike...

Was having a bit of a race through Milton Keynes recently on a wet day with some guy in a Merc CLK (who obviously thought he had the fastest car in the world by the way he was driving it :xxx: ) so I thought i'd show him otherwise.

Came to one of the MANY roundabouts side by side and as I booted it off the roundabout the arse started to go and I thought I was gonna sideswipe him.

Kept the foot planted and snapped the wheel back and the car came back in line and left him for dust!! :D

only one near miss but 3 accidents! :slap:

1st accident: in my old zed, some ass in a corsa who was driving th opposite way on th main road cut accross me to slip into a side street, drove into the side of his car and luckily avoided to much damage by swerving away.

2nd accident: again in my old zed, 1am, took the scenic route home from my aunts and sped up to beat a light like an idiot. immediate right turnafter the traffic light, inevitably i was going to fast and it was wet, understeered straight into the metal railings. had to pick my intercooler off the fence, snapped a tension rod, and my inner wing cracked and folded over itself. broke the car for spares

3rd accident: on the 3rd day of owning my swb, new years eve 1130 pm, city centre, turned right at a junction only to have th front of th car swiped acroos by some ass who ran a red light.

near miss: last summer, me and my mates in th car, targas off, baking hot dry day. drove over a main junction with a very slight right hand turn after it. car span 180 and slid across 3 lanes on the opposite side. was driving nowhere near WOT, can only assume i hit a bump or something

Fooking 'ell Yaz, I guess some people just aint meant to drive! LMAO! :smash:

Only once has the Zed ever caught me out, dry day, went o over take when the car was an auto, floored it, the tyre nearest the kerb must have touch some leaves of somet like that, the car almost doubled back on itself, ie 180 degree spin!! Fooking shat me pants and got it back in line quickly.....

Lesson learnt, always countersteer as soon as the boost comes on! :D :slap:

No but when I had the Cerbera, I was away with the girlfriend and took a wrong turn. Approached a T-junction where the road was empty so decided to do what I'd practiced many times in empty car park and stopped, built the revs turned the wheel and released the clutch to spin it 180 and head back in other direction. Unfortunately it swung too far and the back wheel bounced up a curb - buckled the wheel and had to drive back from London to Newcastle. Girlfriend was not impressed!!!
