boost gauges

having just bought a twin pod 60mm thingy off of Smithy I now need to find some gauges to fit. 60mm isn't the problem only what type of gauges would be worth while. I think one will definatly be a boost gauge but what would be advantages as the second gauge? Any ideas most appriciated + what make is best - Apexi, blitz etc.

Bliz make very nice guages.

Try a boost guage and a Exhaust gas temperature guage.

Give Johnny a call, but put on you seatbelt before he gives you the EGT price !

Silly question but why would i need to know the EGT any way. Shoot me down for not knowing. wink.gif

If you're running lean, or detonating for any other reason, then the EGT will spike high, relative to it's normal temp..

A good indicator of problems, then

However not really accurate or fast enough to prevent damage due to detonation on a regular basis.. IMHO

Boost gauge and oil pressure,As both of the factory gauges are not worth reading.Try this site out, they are used for nascar and you will get a big shock on how cheap they are.Don't worry about shipping as the UK supplier has loads in stock REAL STEAL tel 01895 440505 www.autometer.com

Thanks everyone, spoke to johny at GPS and he has sold me two blitz gauges - boost and water temp which sounds good. Also bought a Blitz boost controller. How easy is it to fit. confused.gif

I ordered the same but the gauges never arrived... quite happy though as the rad burst a few days later and cost me loads cash.

The boost gauge is pretty easy if you buy 3 or 4m of extra 6mm hose, 2x T-Pieces (Y shaped pipe connectors) and a pack of 10 jubilee clips.

See Lymon's excellent write up which I used. http://300zx-twinturbo.com/tech/blitz/blitz.htm

Yeah, mine haven't arrived either. Just phoned the Ginge and he's out. Funny how you can only get through when he's out - cos he spends too much time gassing on the phone telling people how busy he is, when he's in I suppose ...
