Was going to get myself insured under Classic insurence with Heritage but for some reason they've changed their age limit so you now have to be 30 years old. That or someone just had a bad day... cause I got a quote with them about a month ago.

Anyway, please give me a list of insurence companies that you know of who will insure a 26 year old with no bonuses at all on a Jap Import TT. Here's a list of those I've already tried.

Admiral

Adrian Flux

A-Plan

Carol Nash

Diamond Insurance Services

Elephant.co.uk

Firebond

Heritage

Hi-Performance

HoughtonInsurance

Jap Spec

MCE

Norwich Union

Quotea.co.uk (hyperperformance)

Quoteline Direct

Sky Insurance

Tesco

Cheapest so far:- Keith Michaels @ £1500. :( And that's with a 520 excess, garaged and limited mileage to 4000k!

Just got an Ok deal with greenlight - try a serach for them.
They say you need at least a years NCB which I dont have! Also my friend who is with them isnt having too much luck as people's been hitting into him and their repair services seems quite crap, as the approved mechinics they use are so lazy they can't be asked to go take a look at his car and made him go to them for a 5 min check up on what is wrong with it and then buggered off because he wanted to go home!!!

Hi

i have used http://www.HoughtonInsurance.co.uk . They are on the traders forum.

I got my Jap import insursed through them. It's agreed value. 5 thou miles PA. I have told them about the mods (if you don't and pile it chances it will void the policy) :slap:

I am 38 and it's on a classic policy but it's with no no claims.........

cost me £425 with another named driver . So i think i did OK on this. :nana2: :nana2:

I've been meaning to try Houghton, just that I'm at work during these insurence opening times and dont have my 300zx log in so I can't do any search! Better jot down the number and try them...!!! Thing is I do remember people here saying they dont do under 30s as well? Give them a call anyway and see what happens I guess.

I got the best quote from LIFESURE..http://www.lifesure.co.uk

They also gave me lifetime protected NCB so unlimited claims. They are also one of only a couple of insurance companies that after paying out for a claim, keep your policy live so you can transfer your new car onto it.

Hope you have luck.

Houghtons couldnt give me a quote, firebond wanted £4.5k and lifesure states on their website that "The car has not been modified".

Bell Direct have been cheapest for me for two years.

http://www.belldirect.co.uk

Worth a call - though you must be sick of answering all those questions they ask though.

"Is it an import? Yes? I'll just put you on hold sir for seven minutes then find out we don't cover imports. Try our sister company and please sit in a phone queue and answer all the questions again." :headvswal

Belldirect and Elephant.co.uk says "We wouldnt insure the fairlady model sir." Guess that sums it up with all the Admiral companies. You know, I think I'm getting immune to the we dont do imports but our sister company can excuse. Found a few more insurence companies to try out! I would like to get it below £1.5k though!!! :headvswal

im insured with a company called "basildon insurance". the number is 01268 270886. for my jap spec zed with four years no claims and 3 points at 26yrs old it was 480.00 (max miles 4000k). now gone up to 580.00 due to the ecu upgrade done at zedworld................well worth it though!!!!!!!! :nana2:

Had to change from Houghtons as they dont do Evo's or Scoobys,so after a load of hunting went with A Plan, very very good,08450711234 worth giving them a ring.

Tony :)

Might of been down to the name "fairlady". Its listed as '300zx Twin Turbo Import' on their system. So if they dont see it listed, they'll just say they dont insure it.
