Just heard on the news, the first speed cameras that can register your speed from a kilometer away have been switched on in kent! If the authorities were that bothered about keepng the speeders to the speed imit wouldnt it be cheaper to enforce all car manuacturers to install some kind of radio sender unit that registers you as speeding to your local constabulary?? No it wouldnt, coz then no one would speed, and then no one would ever have to pay a fine, so no one would ever be able to generate dodgy revenue. This country is begining to stink!! In fact ill probably have some MIB knocking on my door next coz ive wrote this thread in the first place!

Or even better Pete, a device which knows the speed limit using GPS and prevents you from exceeding it, therefore the local constabulary won't even be needed! Would save a whole load of paper work and police time, but it would mean the quickest i could get to london would be 3 hours instead of 2 :(

I know the feeling mate, you'd never get any work done if you stuck to the letter of the law, i jus cant understand why things are getting more and more prohibitive in this country, and why you cant step outside your front door any more without it costing you. why dont dibble just get rid of speed cameras completely and employ muggers to take your money off you? it would save a fortune in red tape!!!

Couldn't agree more. The 'nanny state' which we live in today is ridiculous. We should be left to our own devices more and let common sense guide us, because despite more and more people bumming out of education the majority of the population can still think for themselves. Instead of speeding laws, stupid H&S laws, riding a bicycle (!!!) laws, they should concentrate in injecting the funds into catching murderers, theives, muggers, peado's. I got a £30 OTS fine the other day for riding on the pavement... a pavement which is 19ft wide and was empty at the time (police officer was in a car). The road is also a main road for connecting the motor way junctions, so if you think I am going to ride on a road full of agrivated motorists and lorries which probably wouldnt see me then they are sadly mistaken!
