Well peeps after months of waiting my new wheels came last night and were ready to go on the car :hyper:

However, tried to put the front on and the wheel touches the front caliper by loads. :headvswal

Does anyone know how much you can space a wheel by?

I know that your not supposed to, but I really want these wheels to go on! :(

hi Trin. I got myself some new 'uns a couple of weeks ago and apparently its best to go for convex (or is it concave?) spokes so they fit around the caliper. sorry i dont know much about spacers tho :(

Sorry babe.......only read the post to see your sig again! :D

Zeds I aint sure, but previous motors I have put 10mm spacers on with no probs-personally I wouldn't like to go any more than that, but hey! that's me......

Hey,

Yeah, they do curve outwards just not enough :(

So theonly way forward that I can see is spacers! :wack:

I have 20mm on the front of mine, but i also have the high tensile extra long studs, i have noticed that some of the guys with wide arch kits have 120mm spacers. I dont know how long your wheel bearings will last though??

ps, i do like your watch

I had 8mm of spacers on my fronts for the same reason and all 5 drivers side wheel bolts flew off on a roundabout. Cost me a grand in repairs. Bear that in mind ;)

I'd say 3mm was fine, I'd worry at 5mm really. You can grind the NISSAN logo down a bit for a couple of extra mm as this is the proudest part of the caliper.

I had 10mm spacers on mine for over a year with no problems. Pete, your just a limp wristed shandy drinker who cant use a spanner!!!

However you will need to use longer wheel studs. I got mine from Mike Feeney.

Thanks for the info peeps! :hyper:

However, another question!! :wack:

Can i get 17 x 9's on the front!!!!

I think mine are 9's on the front with 17" but I am not 100% positive. I know I had had to get some spacers made up for my wheels on the front 8mm. I had hubcentric spacers or something like that made up by a company for me.

Are theythe ones that bolt to your hub and then the wheels bolt on to them!!!!

Why is buying a set of wheels so hard? :headvswal LOL

I was told before i bought any wheels for mine that these cars have wider callipers a lot of garages just told me straight they cannot get alloys for 300zxs :(

Buying wheels for a Zed can be a complete nightmare. Mine were, but I got it sorted. Mine are Asev which can be a pit of a PITA , but hubcentric spacers are the way to go. Ulike normal spacers they replicate the factory hub lip on the outer face of the spacer. This will then ensure that the wheels center perfectly to avoid any shimmy problems. Unfortunately you cannot rely on your wheel bolts alone to centre the wheels so to avoid vibrations and shimmy problems I went down this route. They are also very strong and well made unlike most crap spacers.

Mine fit over my existing wheels bolts, but like the other guys said .. Depending on the spacers you have, it may be wise to get longer wheel studs. You can get some nice ones from Courtesy Nissan I think. They sell various lengths in Nismo stylee.
