WARNING!
GREMLIN’Z DISCOVERED IN ESSEX!
A WORD OF WARNING TO ALL 300ZX OWNERS
Whilst working on my Zed the other evening I made a disturbing discovery. Nesting in my throttle body was what I can only describe as a small Gremlin like creature. It appeared to have been chewing on various connectors around that area leaving a blue/green deposit on them. Was this the cause of my intermittent stumble problems?
After contacting the zed owners club in Japan it has come to light that our far eastern friends have been aware of these creatures for some time.
There are different varieties.
The Japanese gremlins are most feared and have a voracious appetite for wiring looms, connectors, turbo seals and ECU internals.
The American variety are least feared preferring cast off Big Mac wrappers and the occasional seat bolster and are too fat to fit anywhere in the engine bay.
The English versions mainly prefer bodywork, leaving a brown crumbly deposit in their wake and like to suck on the inside of the door skins leaving noticeable indentations. The baby ones have also been known to play with the odometer dials, spinning them round to make new numbers.
Some of you may have seen forum members complaining of fire coming from their exhausts recently. Almost certainly a gremlin becoming dislodged from the turbo seals and being sucked into the combustion chambers (did you see a greenish tint to the flame?)
This creature can often go in to hibernation for some time only to re awaken on dark rainy nights on the M25.
I am currently researching a method of killing off the critters (large sums of money seem to frighten them off for a while) but my Japanese friends say it is hopeless and that exporting as many as possible to the UK may lead to them dieing out over there.
Should you find one of these critters lurking in your PCV valves, catch it in a small jar which you can then leave under any nearby Rover or Gatso and hope they take, or put them in an envelope addressed “Japanese Auction House, Tokyo, Japan”
