Hard Wiring

I have far too many gadgets with cigerette lighter plugs on the end so want to hard wire a few. Now if i cut the plug off I have 1 red and 1 white wire, am i right in guessing this is pos and earth?

    Your about as much help as a chololate t pot mate LOL. I installed my turbo timer with no problems. I was the one who installed the gbox so it has no reverse lights? LOL
