so what did you and your Z get up to today??

 

Me and my bucket spent the day overheating at random with me trying to put water back in faster than it was pissing out of the expansion bottle... grrrr. :headvswal

 

so a quick trip to harry halfords, got some flushing solution and the best coolant/antifreeze they had to offer and flushed the damn coolant system about five times until the water was crystal clear then filled her back up again... hose was out was roped in the rug rat and a neighbours lad to help wash her, at least if it overheats and im at the side of the road with the bonnet up and steam everywhere the car will not be dirty!! :D

 

(also too the plunge and removed all the mesh from the front of the car to see if that helps cooling at all... looks a bit ugly (can see all the oil coolers etc but its a compromise im willing to make) )

Walked down to the garage. Lit a ciggie. Looked at my Zed that's off the road. Scratched my arse. Sat in the drivers seat. Seriously thought about doing some work on her for oooh...all of 2 seconds. Got out. Lit another ciggie.

Got temporarily distracted by the intricacy of a spiderweb and marvelled for several minutes on the sheer beauty of the world, thinking that perhaps the wonderousness of Nature itself testifies of an intelligence, a presence, an active agency, that works in, and through, and above her laws. Scratched my arse some more. Went back in.

Well I spent another weekend without my car, still waiting for parts so the bodyshop can put it all back together :( Glad some people are enjoying theirs though :)

I had a blinder, up first light got leathers on, mine and the mrs bike out the garage, down to a friends, blat along some nice roads to a transport cafe for the traditional gresy one and back home.

 

Then, roof off the zed, fill her up with juice and shoot down to see Baggins and add another couple of hundred miles towards the 1000 miles im running her in after her recent rebuild (500 miles in, using the full rev range but only 7psi of boost) still managed to see off a couple of cheeky young chavs. Waiting for the day when I swich on my boost controller and start opening her up :)

I went out in the z and had the window down listening to the sweet music of the engine,along with the sgp pulley i fitted,sounds much more meaner probably bearing grumble LOL :smash:

Targas out, freshly polished, practising donuts in the car park at the local skate park - to the delight of many onlookers :dance: :tongue: :wack:

Didn't do anything with my Zed, it's still in the garage :(

Loaded up the zed with my kite surf kit and had a run down to the beach. Had a fantastic afternoon in steady winds and flat calm sea. Gave the zed a wash and polish in the evening.

And spotted a camera van on a an mway bridge whilst I was doing three figures, so if I wasn't quick enough on the brakes I might not be driving anything at all for a bit...

Went a fooking long run today from Nottingham to Skelmersdale(in Lancs!) All motorway...Oh joy of joys! Fell asleep on a sofa in someones office reception area.

Drove all the way home in the rush hour... more joy of joys.

Got home and checked car over.

Looks like someones put a different zorst on the car while I was asleep.

Then looked in my wallet... Thievin sods have nicked all me money!!

I new I should have gone to work today...would still have had that money.

Anyone lend me a fiver???

Technically this wasn't today it was the weekend.

 

Drove my new car home to find exhaust coming out from under the bonnet, found answer to the question of 'why had the seller stopped us from taking it out on the motorway by leaving so little petrol in the tank?'. As soon as engine was off, went inside house, came out with tools, removed worse spoiler in the world. Removed black stick on flames from sides (along with a load of paint). Dissasembled and WD40'd doors to try and get the locks shifting. Inspected car and realised I needed: engine, turbos, hoses, turbo pipes, rear tyres, targa seals, seats, interior trim, air vents, leccy window switches, window motor, stereo, alarm, immobiliser, front speakers, headlight seal, rear bumper, rear window seal, front bumper, side skirts, door cards, propshaft bearing, propshaft?, MAF (or lambda), alternator, PTU and coils. Wondered why my car was still on autotrader, wondered how seller expected us not to say WTF when we noticed car had done 140K not 39K.

Nope, stone cold sober, could spot it was a lemon from 50 miles away and when I got there the warning signs said 'walk away now'. That just made me want to buy it more, I think I just like the sense of achievement that comes from doing something myself. After working on it for while, its condition has been raised from 'shit state' to 'terrible'. With the parts I've ordered and plenty of elbow grease I think I can improve it to 'bad'.

 

Probably be seeing a lot of me in 'Items Wanted'
