There arn't many companies that will insure an import and from the ones that do I'm finding it a huge struggle to find an insurance quote under £2k. If I can't get a decent quote the car may have to go because I can't afford to have it sitting around. If my car was a UK car I'd be laughing.

I'm 21 with 2 years ncb, how much are you guys paying and who are you insured with?

And noone mention Houghton's because just the name pisses me off, 'club insurance', yeah right!

Houghton's do a good deal i hear

Hi mate, I'm 24 with an import TT. Kept on the drive, no alarm bonuses or anything like that and I insured with Admiral, £980 fully comp with 3 years introductory NCB, and mods declared. It was even cheaper if I paid the whole lot outright, it's £980 including the deposit and payments.

Hope this helps you mate.

Is this the red SWB? If you want to sell it, I've got first dibs lol :x:

Cost:-

£2100 Fully Comp for my import  with PRIVELEGE

26yrs old

9yrs NCB ;)

No points/endorsments :smash:

Reason:-

shitty area (postcode) :slap:

parked on road not garage :nono:

24,000 miles per annum

all mods declared :p

wont go down till i'm 30 :hurl:

I tried 8companys/brokers and no one beat it...Adrian Flux was next closest at £2200.

Some companys would only insure it as a second car(why would I wanna drive anything else when I have a Z)

Most companys all have limited mileage :xxx:

Yeah I agree Club schemes are usually no better than anywhere else TBH!

I insured my MR2 through the MR2DC last year and it was 750 squids. Shopped around this year and it's down to 527 so MR2DC...do one will ya!

do you have any other ncb on top of the introductory one? was it a one off offer with a code or do they do that for all new customers?

http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=46294 :(

im 20 with 2yrs NCB paying £2100 TPFT with AdrianFlux.every one else just laughed! cat 1 alarm, non standard alloy wheels and a bodykit, and kept in a locked garage out in the sticks, that was the absolute best i could find . its crap how they shaft us for having an import there's no need for it, just an excuse to charge you more

This import thing is *****x i cant justify what the differance is-iv just got a quote from adrian flux for £1080 TPFT best i can get im 23 1yrs NCB

I live in ok area tracker&alarm and its on my drive with 5000miles per year

im 25 , 1 year no claims with elephant.co.uk and have just had me renewel through for £575 !!!! BARGAIN !!!

Yas, it was an offer they were running in August when I insured it, no idea if they are doing it now, and no, I haven't got any other NCB... Give them a try mate, you may be surprised, never know eh? :)

Ya5een I'm 21 too and with 2ncb and Elephant quoted me just over £1200 TPFT for my TT import but declairing it as standered, which is abit naughty but it's not heavy modified.

Oh and Houghton's kinda laughed at me, but thing is i had already owned it for a year insured with Adrian Flux, So they can err....... yea you get the point lol

jelous :D

yeah

i had to make do with a 260z when i was 23

Give Firebond a try, 22 4 years NCB, Jap TT, £1300 they seem quite fair on mods too, well only ones are 18's but didn't change the price so that was nice :)

jaffa elephant want just over £1500 tpft with no mods and no claims declared, with everything declared its about £2100! thats with my mum and dad added as additional drivers which did make it about £400 cheaper

Oh right, I'll try adding my dad to see if that will help then.

Who else could we try then my insurance is due within the next month or so, i'll have to do abit of research.

Firebond sound good Kevinc have you got any contact numbers and is that quote fully comp of tpft.

Saying that By what Kay said Admiral seem good too.

i was playing about with the quote system on elephant and check this:

1) if i declare that i have had 2 previous claims and both were fully recovered (i.e. non fault) then it costs MORE than

2) if i declare that i have had 2 previous claims and one was my fault and one wasnt!

3) and if i say they were both my fault it costs the SAME as if i say they both wernt my fault!!!

how the hell does that work??!!

anyone know what would happen if i didnt tell the insurance company about previous accidents? do they get hold of that kind of info?

Sorry forgot to put yes my policy is Fully Comp, http://www.firebond.co.uk (0870 444 0556), I literally called about 50 companies (a few could get near by a couple of hundred pounds) and got so many negative under 25 import responses it was depressing lol!

I found with them though adding my Mum on didn't decrease the amount or increase it as the highest risk was me so thats what the policy is priced at, worth a go though!

is that with all your mods declared PMSL

erm........mods??...what mods?? LOL na changing to adrian flux soon once car is back , they want 950 fully comp with ALL MODS DECLARED!!! elephant laughed.. :D

roll on when im 25 ffs

I had a mate who did this, never told them about previous accidents, he had an accident and had to make a claim on the policy and didnt have any problems either. was recently too even with all the "we share information with other insurers" bull..

so in theory its fine, however if you get caught out you're guilty of fraud I believe so expect at the least your policy to be cancelled, and then they probably will tell all the other insurers about you. at worst you'll be nicked and charged and have to do some community service!
