Hi all,

My car goes into the body shop soon and im in 2 minds either to keep my door handles or have them flushed and have poppers on them instead, so when i push a button on my alarm key my door popes open.

 

anyone got any ideas pls.

so what happens if your battery goes flat ???

Take em off mate ;)

flat battery on the car or in the key fob is not a prob.

PM me if you want and i'll let yer know what methods am doing in case of flat batteries.

the bloke i spoke to who might do it said sumthing about solanoids, dont know if spelt right. is this what every one else is going on about aswell,

I say go for the dehandled look mate, I am when the car goes in, its just another point for some thieving little scum to point his screwdriver at.....

i have a SIGMA CAT 1 alarm and the bloke that fitted that is the bloke thats gunna fit the SOLENOIDS, he said there heavey duty ones and for parts and labour he is going to charge me 300 quid is that gud or not..... He knows his shit mind you, everyone round my way goes to him for all car audio and stuff like that.

Sounds pretty good to me Karl, can you get the make and model of the solenoids for me, I am going to have a go at fitting these myself, it cant be that difficult!? Can it? Fook it, removing the engine loom was hard enough! :D

I've got a Clifford system at the moment mate (though I'm upgrading with all the work being done ;)) and it's not a difficult job to get it working off one of the spare buttons on the fob. ATM though, I've just got popper buttons sited on the wing mirror attachment plates.

on my key fob it only has one button so unless the kit comes witha new fob then im fcuked really but the bloke whos doing it knows this so he really should sort it out, i dont feel at easy with the button on the out side, what if sumone saw you and noticed were it was could they still nick your car or the stuff in it.

Nope! ;) Put it like this, it's a helluva lot safer than having handles.

Im sure I saw somewhere a similer solenoid setup where the buttons to replease the doors were on the underside of the wingmirrors, very discrete a and hard to spot. Sure I saw this on a beemer not so long ago.... flushed doors look the mutt's nuts! :nana2:
