i`ve had my Z garaged for about 4 months, has been fine all over christmas always started first time with no probs, the last thing i did on the car was to fit a new stereo and amp, anyway went to start the car but battery was flat for some reason....so i jump started it off my work van to get it running, left it running for a few mins turned it off to try to start again but not enough power, jump started it again drove it for about half an hour, when i stopped the car i turned the key to turn the engine off but nothing happened, the engine just keeps running....need help anyone????????????i took the keys out but the engine was still running, had to disconnect the coil fuse under the bonnet to cut out the engine, dash lights are now on all the time :(

Please Help, What Could It Be?? Wanted To Take Car Out This Weekend After Getting It All Tax`d And Insured Now I Can`t..............any Idea`s?????????????

Start by disconnecting the Amp and stereo see if it still happens.

i disconnected the amp last night before i put it away but the it still has the same problem, so i have to remove the large coil relay from under the bonnet, i`m going to the garage now to try and check all the fuses and charge the battery...............will let you know if any fuses are blown......thanks for replying, it`s baffling me !!!!

its your ECU,its duff, AdamR had the same problem a while back, swap your ecu with someone else just to prove it(thats what we did).

the really stooopid suggestion would be: there's not a fooked turbo timer hidden under the dash somewhere?

i was thinking that

its the ecu.. get it swapped with someone who lives near you.

Gareth had the same problem on his, brought it in and we rewired a couple of his relays to sort it till he got a new ECU and problem solved!

well, sorry to say this but your all wrong arart from srrae, i went to the garage disconnected the amp that i put on a permanant live and recharged the battery.........a couple of hours later i re-fitted the battery and started, was spot on......drove it a bit yesterday and last night..no probs and have left it overnight, got to it this morning and it`s still spot on....must have been draining power from the amp, and when i disconnected the battery then reconnected it the ignition went back to normal.....so it`s sorted.................now i can enjoy it this weekend....cheers guys

Be carefull that it doesnt start its self up during the night and drive away!!!
