had a bitch of a day,fitted a sgp pulley an encountered problems on the way

 

1/the ajuster nut on the alternator rounded of so to get to it comfortably i removed the alternator took 1-30 mins to replace due to the fact refitting of alternator from engine bay is almost impossible,did it in the end replaced new belt job done

 

2/new problem the a/c idler pulley wont come loose the 14mm nut has completly rounded off WTF need to remove it to set the tension!!

 

so anyone know what i can do other than beat it,cut it off!

although i was thinking of using my dremmel to cut the nut in half

 

do you think those wrenches are available locally as i need to this tommorow,any thoughts on nut splitters

try hitting a 13 mm socket on to it, it should bite into the nut and undo

have you got one of those gator wrenches (think thats what they call them)

its like a socket with loads of pins inside it, which tightens up on rounded off nuts, as you turn it

Good idea...the Gator Grip is great for botched nuts :eek:

 

If u cant do it then i would scrap it as its only a red Z bud :nelson:

 

Failing that weld summin onto it and crack it of...the heat would probably help to....but no turning back once u weld...unless u can get an angle grinder in their...Power Tools...luv em

i could but it means removing the new sgp crank pulley,as i have limited left-right movement :headvswal

all sorted used a turbomaster socket which has a spiral effect cutter inside-worked a treat and is a must for any DIY zeder :hyper:
