Anyone ever used this company, or someone like Group 20? I am getting pissed off waiting for the right car and thought this might be an option. Are they trustworthy- and what's the chance there will be something available to buy in Japan?

I wonder how many 300's come up for auction in Japan now- I keep expecting to see more late models coming up, but are they all still in Japan?

There are approx 50 300zx's that come up each week in the Japanese auctions of all models, years colours and mileages. It takes approx 6 weeks to get a car from Japan once purchased.

It all depends what you are looking for.

I would- is it likely that someone could find me an SWB N/A? That's what I'm (still) looking for- at a 'reasonable' price.

Suffolkzx did you bid on an auction or buy a car from their stock? Cheers for the replies.

Give Redline Imports in Essex a call, they have just taken delivery fresh from Japan a Metalic Black SWB N/A.

I had a good look round it last time I was in there and its a nice motor.

Cheers- will do. Do you happen to know if it's a manual? I'll give them a ring in the morning. thanks.

Its here http://www.redlineimports.co.uk

But that is so expensive especially for the mileage and condition.

If you imported that car it would be £1500 less

 you think £5,500 for s 95% mint SWB manual is a lot! Only needs bumpers blown over £100.

As for the miles, I would rather know what my car has done rather than being clocked like 90% of other imports. Take a look, everything off the boat is always 55k. funny that

Mine was on the quay waiting to be shipped over when I bought it from their website, the description they gave was honest and the car has been 100% trouble free since I took delivery. I spent ages looking for the right example in this country and finally gave up and went this route but it is very scarey buying a car you have never actually seen.

...but it's auto, although that's not too dreadful, I think it makes more difference with an NA- an NA is more fun manual

See Topless (among others) for a manual and TT conversion !

£1k for a good TT engine and ancilliaries

£750(?) for all the manual bits

Fitting (?)

Maybe £6-7k including the cost of the car ?

Worth considering ? Would be a hell of a car !!

I want an NA- out of choice (!!!!!), really, honestly.

Unless you have access to all of the Japanese Auctions, which I do, thenI am sorry but you don't really know the score as far as prices availability and condition is concerned.

If you think £5500 is a good price then I would hapily get you one with half the mileage for that price, because it's not cheap, beleive me.

Already said what i feel about low mile cars that are cheap, and as far as condition. I have been all over this car and it only has bad paint on bumpers, thats it. the rest of the car is in great condition, and ANY zed in that condition is worth over 5k in the UK let alone it being a SWB!

I have all the paperwork from the auction house in Japan for mine, it was 200,000 Yen so thats about £1000, not a SWB but still pretty cheap over there, and that was one and a half years ago.

So that should have been £1000 for the car, £250 for transport to Japanese docks, £650 shipping £190 duty, £370 VAT, £50 UK port fees, £140 UK transport TOTAL £2650.

So how much did you pay for it??

Should have charged you less than £3500 if they bought it in especially for you.

i'm very close to taking delivery of my zed import. after looking around on this forum and others i decided to go through Leigh, one of the traders on here. Jap City Ltd is his company. he has been EXTREMELY helpful at every stage so far and a real bonus is he uses Ryan from ZTech to run diagnostics when the car arrives and also got me (fingers crossed!) a good deal with Ryan on the big 60k service, cambelt, water pump, labour etc.

its a small company but IMO that was one of the positive deciding factors. highly recommend Leigh@Japcity ltd

Tom.

There are some really exceptional 2 seater low mileage high grade (excellent condition) cars being auctioned this week in Japan including:

A Red 1992 2 seater manual hardtop with only 33,00 miles and a auction grade 4, it also has what appear to be either 17 or 18" V nice 6 spoke alloys in chrome and gold

A Silver 1993 2 seater auto T roof with 57,000 miles and auction greade 4, it also has larger nice 5 spoke alloys and a stainless twin entry (on each side) exhaust.

So that should have been £1000 for the car, £250 for transport to Japanese docks, £650 shipping £190 duty, £370 VAT, £50 UK port fees, £140 UK transport TOTAL £2650.

I paid a lot less than £3500 :D :D

Good, I am glad you did not get ripped off, just to put things straight I was not suggesting you had been, just that the black car referred to in the post was overpriced by thousands!

But I bet your was not as good as the red one thats being auctioned this week that I described in the previous post. I am tempted to bid on it, but would probably not end up keeping it.....

Would post a picture but looks like I need to subscribe first..
