Ran a virus check on my pc and it came back with 1 virus

in the system, namely; TROJ_KEENVAL.A :headvswal

 

Located in; c:\Windows\TEMP\remove.exe

 

It was detected by the Trend Micro Housecall Virus Scanner,

but it says it is unable to remove it or repair any damaged file ?? :confused:

 

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Idiot proof help would be prefered !! ;)

Still running Windows 98, 2nd Edition.

delete it

 

run the scan after booting again

It didnt remove it cos TREND is a P.O.S - we have it at wotk, and it always says the same as that!!..

 

You might need to start in SAFE MODE if you cant just delete it

Ususlly pressing F8 on boot up gets you into Safe Mode, or on Win 98, just turn the bugger off at the switch and it'll usually WANT to start in Safe Mode

you cant delete the file because it is currently loaded and accessing the memory. Go to task manager and close the process which is called remove or something

its hidden in a system file, theres a howtoo on symantec though

goto
