Air Con Pipe Disconnection

All

I need to disconnect the two pipes that lead through the bulk head to the Air Con unit so that I can remove the engine wiring loom going through the bulk head, tight as can be to remove without I can tell you!! :(

Can I just unscrew them or will gases end up blowing my lungs up? :D

Searching for a FAQ now but struggling..... :(

YO Mark.

IF you take the car to your local aircon geezer he will vacume the gas out (to save the ozone layer) then when the repairs are complete he will re gas it for you.

Normaly when your aircon gets gassed they vac the system first anyway so you should get both visits for the same price as one.

Ps. some aircon gas depending on age is harmless unless heated to a very high temp

when it becomes lethal(such as drawn through a lighted cigarette) so no smoking if your open the pipes and dump the gas(not recomended).

Also seal the ends well, or the dryer will try and dry the world, and then it will not dry your gas when you re fill.
