I'm ok, just a bit of whiplash I guess, hit a car running a red light going straight across my path, she had two kids in the back, I was panicking thinking I'd injured her kids, but looks like I've missed them and caved in her drivers door... couldn't believe how smashed the side of her car was and how (relatively) little damage to the front of my car... I hit her at a good twenty mph, so jarred my neck pretty bad, but main thing is her kids were ok. can't believe she would be driving like that with two little ones in her car, silly bitch.

I've attached a pic of the damage, I might have got away with some new glass and a re-spray, but it's cracked left of the number plate.

if anyone has a bumper laying around that needs spraying that isn't damaged, can you let me know, I'm so gutted right now words can't say, my pride and joy is busted, so so gutted... we decided not to claim on our insurance as I've got loads of no claims and so had she, her car was a lot worse off, and I've got a £350 quid excess with no NCB protection... I know even a brand new bumper from Z-centre is 200 quid and it can't be that much to spray it so figured it would be best to go our seperate ways, i was just glad her kids were okay...

so yeah, if anyone has a bumper in good nick that need spraying to my colour please please let me know, I would be eternally grateful, off to the doctors now to get my neck checked out, will check the replies when I get back, thanks in advance

Sorry to hear about the prank mate, cant believe somebody would jump a red light with kids in the car either. Doesn't look to bad though, maybe a good time to go for a bumper upgrade?

if it was her fault (obviously is seeing as she ran a red) u dnt have anything to worry about incurance and ncb wise. shoulda called the cops. this is almost exactly what happened to my car but i was going alot slower but my damage was worse  go figure lol

Sorry to hear that. Glad the little brats are ok. The cops need to stop people like her from driving instead of hiding in the bushes with speed cameras! :nono:

Glad you are all alright after that and hope its not too painful for your neck.

Gotta say though, if u are not at fault as she was running the light then I would be claiming on her insurance. You can claim your policy excess back off her and when it come to renewal it will be a no fault claim. Technically she should be prosecuted by the law for what shes done so you are being pretty damn kind to her.

Your call obviously but thats just my two penneth.

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Glad your ok but I know what you mean about the kiddies. That's why I sold the Z and got the Mrs a 4x4. I don't mind driving a P.O.S as long as they are safe. However, I have been getting the inches again and it's been less than 6 months.

 :x: :x:

Gutted for you, and hope everything is alright at the doctors. :(

Somebody on here will more than likely have something lying around to help you out. :)

Bloody hell, Glad your ok mate!!

There is soooooooo many incompetant drivers on the road, running a red is stupid enough with out having kids in the car!!

Ive got a Fog light here mate, and im sure someone has a bumper knocking around, PM me your details and ill send the fog light off!

Rich

claim via insurance, whiplash is at least a £2000 pay out to start with, and who knows what other nasties may have occurred, once you start fixing the car yourself you are screwed in regards to a claim.

Glad you're ok mate - there's some terrible drivers out there.

Can't that bumper be repaired? I think a bodyshop could do a decent job and it'd be cheaper than replacing it.

And claiming off her insurance could be good too. Especially with that whiplash.

So you know during the rush hours, women with children are 5 times more likely to have an accident than a man.

Sorry to hear Kay. Glad its just minor damage to yours.

I think you were too nice to her....the claim would of definatly been on her insurnace and not affected yours.

Plus..if she gets home her husband talks her into claiming it, and you dont claim it or report to police. You could line yourself up for prosecution for not reporting an accident, even although not your fault.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know anything about insurance, never had an accident before, didn't know anything about claiming my excess off her policy or anything... shit... oh well, I probably came across like a saint to her then... thing is I waved a lady down in a car coming the other way that saw it all, and she just drove off! Then I saw the kids in the back and my focus immediately switched to concern for them, I wanted to make sure they were ok.. that explains why she was so eager to go our seperate ways then... I just didn't realise... thanks for the offers, I will take you up on the fog light, and see a body shop to see how much it is to repair it, thankyou very very much everyone, this forum is the best on the net I'm telling ya

p.s. doctors say it's minor whiplash, and it's aggravated my back a bit, but it should die down, could have been a lot worse thank god.

Thanks again

(a sore Jon)

 :x: :x:

ooops - I meant itches!

lol first time I've laughed since it happened, you don't wanna go making typos like that on here

Laughter is the best medicine

Tottally agree with Legrath here.....If mr hubby comes home he'll probably try and claim.

Anyway....hope u aint got stiff neck for 2 long as its a bummer lookin round to reverse these Z's. :D

sorry to read this kay,not to long ago i went into the back of someone and wrecked my company car,it was her fault as she slammed on her brakes i couldnt stop in time, she had whiplash apparently  at 15mph,whenever you go into someone, its your fault, which shouldnt be the case in all scenarios, glad it wasnt to serious

its even worse when you have a Red Zed:p

:nana2:  :nana2:

Just been to the nick to report it in, while I was telling the police woman about it two fuggin little chavs were sitting there sniggering and laughing when I mentioned what car it was and what happened, after a minute or so I turned round and said "are you finding this funny then?" and gave them a death stare, they were all "nah mate I was talking to me mate" I swear I was ready to deck the little *******s, how can they find that amusing? I fricken hate the snotty nosed baseball cap addidas wearing spitting little *******s I really do

So she took my details and said I'd done the right thing, but should have called them straight away... dammit, wish I'd done things differently but hey, you live and learn, I'll be carrying a pen and paper round with me now that's for damn sure...

Better to be safe than sorry :D

Agreed - if she took your reg number, what is there to stop her making a claim against you later - especially when her hubby finds out the cost of the damage.

Always swap names and addresses and note the other person's reg number.

Glad you are ok though mate, a stiff neck for a few days isn't that bad. Plus you can easily get the parts to fix your Z here, people always have bumpers etc for sale. There's even a pair of front fogs on the for sale board ATM - get in quick as they sell fast coz they cost a packet new.

Good luck mate

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Sorry to hear that mate.

even if you do get there details mate they can still get out of it, I was driving in the outside lane and a van (white van) on the inside lane pulled over and slammed into the side of me Z causing 3k of damage! he admitted full liability at the sene, a day later I got a form through saying he was claiming from me, on the grounds that I sped up :nono: :mac1:

Fooking winds me up whats the point of having insurance.

I have an aftermarket front bumper mate, fibreglass has been repaired but if you are having it painted that wont be a problem 100quid

Sorry to hear that mate.

Shouldn't really matter if you did speed up - highway code states quite clearly "when changing lanes, signal but give way to traffic already in the lane to which you intend to move"

Still so many w@nkers out there that cause accidents then deny all responsibility later and there's nothing we can do
