Can anybody recommend a good piece of free software to rip MP3s from CDs?

Everything I can find is either a free trial period or has quality limited until you pay up for the software....

Something nice and simple and free like DVD shrink would be cool....

Cheers

cd2wav32 - it's usually to be found on a Japanese site somewhere, but I use it all the time.

I've always just used Windows Media Player (free and simple and shipped with Windows...but download latest version)

Media player does it?? mad as cheese wouldnt have thought that... I'll give it a try...

Yep, it Rips and Burns....if u have an older version u may need to upgrade (free) .

Windows Media Player 10 is current version I think.

You want something that supports an effiecent encoder. Gogo is supported by cd2wav32 and all the track naming stuff works automagically too.

WMP - quick and easy

I use dBpowerAmp, though admittedly only cos one of my friends gave it me when I asked for the same thing :S But it's nice and simple :)

On a related note, anybody know any free sw for recording and cleaning up LPs? I've got a load of vinyl to convert (when I can get the turntable working), and it would be nice to have something that makes it easy (for eg, chopping up in to seperate tracks, cleaning up crackle, naming & tagging).
