Reverse light Law

Does anyone know the law regarding reversing lights, I have some new rear main lights and indicators that are set in black panels, I now want to black out the O.E reverse lights for consistency, possibly replace the center panel for a totaly black one.

I am considering locating a new reverse light in place of the left hand fog light in the bumper.

As far as I know you have to have one light, but there is no spec on hight, postion etc, can anyone confirm this?

    As far as im aware, they must light up white and then they are ok. Im sure though that reflectors must remain Red though.

    I dont think there are any rukes on the positioning of the light except for the fact that it has to be visible! Lol. I think it has to be a certain birghtness but im not sure, i tried to look online for help but i couldnt find anywhere that said yes or no lol.

    Yeh, but the reflectors are in the back lights, this doesnt affect the reverse lights, I have a UK spec, so the fog is in the bumper on the right, the left is a blank fog and that is what I am intending to use.

    As far as mot goes, reversing lights aren't testable items...

    Can definately confirm this as my reversing lights don't work and it didn't fail the MOT for that............
