Just arrived home from Santa Pod. I took the Z down the quarter mile but times were not good cos the track was very cold and not very sticky, plus there was snow on and off. Not that i'm making excuses. Ooops on my third run the car flicked its back end I lost her and had a spectacular crash with sparks and everything as I hit the wall. I think I worried the guy in the other lane as i plunged accross the track towards his wall. I am fine but the Lady was not so lucky, my rear end is squashed and half my paintwork lives on the wall at Pod. Anyhow cheers to the guys from the club for moral support and sympathy it was much appreciated. I will see you back at Pod next time :bow:

Glad you're OK. If you damaged any of the rear subframe etc. I've got a complete one in the back garden which you can have for nowt - I keep tripping over it! I often go to Preston so could drop it off in Ossy if you need it.

Cheers for that, I will get the bodywork looked at tomorrow and then get it to the garage on tuesday so as soon as I am sure what I need I will take you up on your kind offers....

Glad to hear your ok ,are your rear lights ok as ive got a spare pair , there only standard rears but your more than welcome to them if it helps get you back down the pod . :)

I was in line when you did it and some twat came running over to me screaming 'You better watch it down there mate, somebody in one of these (looking at my Z) just went into the barrier!!!

i have just got back from the bodyshop. I definately need a new rear bumper and i have broken the parcel shelf cover, the clip has snapped off.

He says he can knock out the back panel, needs repair work to bodywork and spoiler and luckily the lights are all still intact and working.

My rear passenger shock is now shagged though so if anyone hears of some cheap coilovers i would love to hear from you.

I am taking her to C&S Woods on thursday morning so they can get her on the ramps and check her over underneath. So it looks like she is not terminal just not very pretty at the moment, I feel so lucky that the damage was not far far greater. She will be racing again on a track with grip soon :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

That photo in the DARK shows wot I meant by scary. The Pod lights only light up a bit of the lhs lane and the safety road. Lady smallfry was running in the rhs lane at the time of the incident.

Well, to be honest, I started in the left hand lane but after trying out both sides i actually finished on the right hand lane

Still havn't had the chance to get the car over to the garage cos of the snow. I do know that i have a problem with the rear shock on the passenger side and I need to get it re-conned.

I was wondering if anyone has a spare set of rear shocks and springs that I could loan or buy cheaply so that i can use them while mine are sent off.
