Will jap turbo's be ok in a UK engine??

I know this is prob a daft question but I need to make 100% certain before I shell out my hard earned dosh that they r ok.

    I put some jap turbos on my UK TT as a temp measure and they worked fine, think there a little smaller turbo than the UK one but the same fitments etc
