Getting there - slowly but surely

Still plodding on, trying to sort out the interior of my Z. Just completed the install of the ternion of Momo products. The wheel, I got last Summer, but just added a gearknob and a handbrake handle.

Just want to say thanks to Peter for getting me the Momo stuff, and for the fitting advice for the handbrake handle - worked a treat mate :D

Now all that's left to do is put in the triple a-pillar, gauges and LEDs, then fit the indiglo dials when they arrive, finish off the in car PC and then spend a fortune on a leather retrim!

Looking good mate,

Might have to give the old plastic card a hammering me-thinks. ;)

Good luck with the rest of it.

Alan...

Thanks mate :) - Looks like 2005 is going to be a full year of being skint  This time last year I was fairly well off, but that all changed in June - it can only be a coincidence that was then I picked up my Z!

Mr Mujina that is a nice looking gear knob and handbrake handle - we will have to discuss them at Scotch Corner next Sunday - they look like they will go nicely with my Momo wheel.

how much are the handles ? easy to fit ?

No problem Apache - see you at the Scotch Corner meet :)

Chris - Peter ordered them for me and the pair came to about 90 quid. Very easy to fit, just a case of cutting off the old handle and sliding the new one on. Peter gave me the tip of keeping the very end (last few mm) of the old handle to sit on the handbrake shaft as you slide the new cover on, that keeps the end nice n' tight.

Played about with LEDs in the aircon binnacle this afternoon / evening - quite pleased with the result, although I'm going to try to find out how to change the digital readout colour. The other binnacle will be done tomorrow. Please excuse the crappy photo, my camera won't focus in low light without a tripod...

Was going to today, but was kinda distracted by the smell of burning flesh and the acute agony usually accompanied by me being let loose with a soldering iron...

I bought a set of real leather gaiters from a guy on ebay - getting the handbrake gaiter to stretch over the Momo handle just required a bit of effort to stretch it, and prayer, that it didn't tear!
