just got a quote £255.00 fitted at my house...thinks i will go with it......

Sounds like a good price to me! Where was this from? Just bought myself a Z and need to get a CAT1 sorted! (Membership on it's way lol ;)) Mines a Jap TT, shouldn't make any difference wiring wise should it?

£255 is a good price m8, as a mate of mine fits them

and he's ultra competative and he charges £275 (at your location)

or £300 with the pager

and Kevinc, no jap' wiring makes no difference;)

Good good :D Just read a couple of post about central locking etc and wondered if it might cause any problems.

no that toad is a fav with zx owners m8

only conflict really is if you decide to fit remote start, as that particular alarm wont arm until engine stops without some tweaking

Thanks! Looks like it will probably be my first purchase then, well apart from the new battery lol :)

Anyone wanting an alarm get in touch, got a good deal with a mobile fitter who owns a Zed :)

Make sure that price includes the extra door motor that is needed, some charge an extra £60.00 for it.

im not convinced its a great alarm TBH.

It doesnt seem to repond to the car being slapped, my back windscreen shattered and went with one hell of a pop, didnt shatter into the car, but i would have thought that wouls have set it off, but it didnt.

The bonnet switch played up at the back end of December, leaving me stuck at a shell garage with the ******* thing keeping trying to arm itself and going off . Eventually after giving the bonnet switch a good plunging a few times it seemed to do the trick, maybe it was a bit dirty or starting to corrode.

Sever hailstones doesnt even set it off, which they did to my Clifford, not ideal i know, but at least i had confidence that it would go off if the car was being tampered with.

Im not unhappy with it but I'd just like to have a bit more confidence in it.

Toad Ai606 is a fantastic alarm for me, trouble free and I will be fitting more to any other motors I buy,Clifford is the bad egg of alarms IMHO.

Totally agree Iain :smash: , Scoops you sure you had the sensitivity set right??? the problem with Clifford is not the alarms , its just that most fitters can not fit them properly :slap:

Think I'm set on the Toad always heard good things about them, can anybody reccomend an installer around my area, live in West Sussex, about 15 mins away from Gatwick?

LOL I was told the very same by another alarm fitter however......................

Bob has fitted em for years and IMHO he knows what he is doing,he has had problems with Clifford the dog too :slap:

The sensitivty on the clifford was fine, its the sensitivity of the toad that i would like to increase, can it be done? With the rear screen shattering like it did I would have expected the alram to pick it up, but it didnt. Can it be adjusted?

With respect to the cliffords, i had 1 on my zed and 1 on my car before that and never had a problem with either of them.

Like i said, im not slagging the toad, just wish it was a bit more sensitive, if it can be adjusted, then great.

Cliffords have 3 common faults.

1) the connections in the remotes on the battery connectors fail with poor solder joints.

2) The extended antenna fails which means the alarm will not respond however close you are.

3) The interior sensors have a habbit of adjusting themselves and causing false alarms.

Scoops, the Ai606 does not have a break glass detector and will only sense interior movement. If you want it to detect a slap on the glass turn the sensors up, be preparred for false alarms.

If you want a glass detector fitting give me a shout and i`ll do one FOC.
