Right then all you mod mad monkeys :smw: . I want you to fill me in baby.

Lookin to spend money on engine mods that will maximize performance without effecting the reliability of my tt. There will obviously be the compulsary bling mods ie hard pipes polished plenum etc. Its the real stuff I need feedback on, so feel free to start filling me in

Got induction.

Got back box zorst's

not sure if I need

De-cat's

Grounding Kit

Braided fuel lines

Superchip or equivlant

Re-map ECU

BOV's (PPTTTIISSSSSSSHHHH) :hyper:

I'm sure there's a shed load of other stuff so lets av it

1) decats are a good idea , but if u plan on going COMPLETELY decatted , be prepared for the possibility of the turbo seals wearing a bit faster adn possible early turbo failure. ( but this is only a possibility).

2) braided fuel lines wont make any difference apart from smartening your engine bay up but it does get rid of that petrol smell coming though the air vents on start up in the mornings ( if u get it) .

i have braided fuel line and my car still smells of fuel in the morning, better check there on tight enough LOl

i would mate , my use to smell like that put changed it for smithy's fuel line and yep made sure all was tight and now nothing !! made big difference!!!

is your car a man or Auto? Jap or UK? if jap auto make sure you uprate the oil cooler and autobox coolers.

route i would go mate would be ,

1) cat back exhaust (u already have)

2) performance air filter (u already have)

3) remapped ecu and boost jets ( jwt or similar)

4) boost controller

after that it gets quite expensive mate , i.e. turbo;s , intercoolers , bigger injectors ect

Did you replace the tiny fuel line and the back by the plenum (it's a b*tch to get to)

Can you have boost jets and Boost controller in the same setup?. And if so what would be the point?.

As I understand it Boost jets are not configurable (ie you get what ever boost your jets will allow) and a boost contorller just allows you to change the PSI at your will?.

nope, only got 2 hoses in kit as far as i remember.

Personally I'd forget official JWT ECU (not that they aint good) John Dixon Chips are better. (Just PM him and i'm sure he'll sort you out)

You need a good boost controler ie greedy profec, apexi or HKS.

An Apexi induction as its been proven to be the only cone filter to actually filter the crap out of the air and let the engine breath. Then I'd get J. D. to set it up for you.

Believe me you'll be gobsmacked at the performance differance. J D is cheep and a Genius, but don't tell him i said so. Even if he is slowly slipping into the Bling Zone.

Give me a call and i can talk you through everything if needed :)

I still have my small piece if you want it?. I didn;t need to fit it so did not bother. I think you will have to take the main lines off again though.

Cheers

if its an auto, as well as upgrading the cooler, you may wanna think about a fast road rebuild (or changing to a manual! :D)

if its a manual (or your upgrading to a manual ;)) the get an uprated clutch & lightweight flywheel.

Traction Control is a nice mod too.

dont forget to at least make sure the brakes are in tip top condition or upgrade (they are actually suprisingly good when they work ok - caliper rebuilds are a must if any pistons are siezed), & suspension too :)

My Zed is smelly first thing. Will look into doing the hoses, anyone on here do em please ? (pm me)

1/ tyres

2/ brakes /supension

3/ add some grunt

BOV's aren't needed for performance but make a nice sound lol.

no they dont

Go through the brakes and suspention 1st mate. No point in upping the BHP to find one day you have fooked brakes and that corner has arrived.

Get a boost controler if you can, jets are ok but can you trust them and make sure you have a boost gague.

my advice is set yourself a spending limit ad stick to it. or youl end up like me, with more money sitting on the floor of the spare bedroom than the whole cars worth.

Brakes brakes brakes

Before doing anything to the engine/performance spend £500 on new brakes and you will not regret it - with the new brakes I can drive the car much faster as I have the confidence that the car is able to stop real quick.

Recommend the Brembo discs and Porterfield race pads (cheers Baggins) they work adequately when cold, but once they have gotten up to temperature they will stop in a blink of an eye.

Jap SWB TT Manual slick top in cherry red pearl, 4 1/2" rear cans, Brembo discs, porterfield pads, grounding kit, clear side repeaters, 3 security systems and the biggest grin you have ever seen.

smithy does em mate , have a look in the traders section.

And pete shrimp does grounding kits ;)

Wouldn't recommend running your fuel through em though! ;)
