I was reading through my Z Companion Book last night and was looking at the difference between the dimensions of the SWB and LWBL(Lard)A(Arse) biggrin.gif

If I had bought a SWB I could've got it in my garage but my lump of lardy Lard Wheel Base is sticking it's fat arse outta me garage with builders bum stylee! biggrin.gif

So I'd say they're heavy with it! wink.gif Besides if I answered with ****kg's that would be sad! biggrin.gif

Weight

Kerb: 3480lb/1580kg

Max towing weight: 3304lb/1500kg

Hope it helps wink.gif

Yeah, not sure whether you can just order it anymore Tim. Somebody decent did a group buy not long after I came on here, loads of us ordered it as it was going out of print.

Ebay will be your best bet now as Andy says wink.gif

I want A to Z aswell, saw it somewhere in the US recently but lost the link. That's supposed to be a better book.

Hi,

If you want the weight of your car, the best thing to do is take it to a weighbridge, have in the car what you like, obvious things like passengers and a full fuel tank could be dispensed with or parcel shelves full of speakers could come out, etc etc. I reckon its best to have your normal laden weight in the car, such as 3/4 tank of fuel, one passenger maybe and stereo equipment, and then get it weighed. Cos then you will have an exact weight for your car, a friend of mine who took his car (not a zx) to a weighbridge had the book weight of 1450 kg and his car weighed in at 1322kg, 1/2 tank of fuel, normal stereo equipment and no passengers. The car was not lightened in any way, so it came as a nice surprise. And if you do happen to do any lightening work to your car, you know exactly how much it weighs!! try it, yuo might be surprised, then again, you might be dissapointed if it comes out heavier, but at least you know you are telling the truth rather than factory figures. Everyone does the same with 0-60 and 1/4 mile runs, why not weight??

Tim,

I have A-Z and I'm not very impressed with it. Bit outdated and bit too US orientated. You can use it for bedtime reading at my gaff on Friday - if you're still sober enough to read !!!! LOL biggrin.gif

With me in it, and half a tank of fuel,1780kg

confirmed by two weigh bridges for my Blitz id meter. And no, I am not a fat bastard. biggrin.gif

:)

It was me who did the group buy on the Z Companions Guide. I believe it is now out of print but if you search the forum for the old thread and contact details, he may be able to give you a bit of a discount.

The guy is probably the one selling the book on Ebay, thats how I met him. In fact, looking at his email address, it is the same guy!! Just give him an email and tell him about the 300ZX.co.uk club and that Andrew Ingram sent you to him. He may be able to do you a deal. If there is anyone else who missed the chance to get it, I recommend getting together and ordering all at the same time. The book is well worth it, as any of the people who were in on the original GB can tell you.

Regarding weight, there should be a metal plate just on front of the radiator which shows the weight of the car in kilos. The plate also says things like paint code, VIN etc (AFAICR).

Andy

My car's much lighter, now that SE have fitted a rattley old 1.8 turbo engine from a 200SX !! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Yeah, but look what happened to Eddies car with your motor in it !!!! biggrin.gif
