Paul my Z is going in for MOT tomorrow do you think it will pass on emissions? Or will I have to bribe him LMAO :wack:

cant see why not mate - as iv said before, the zed is only subject to a non cat test, so unless its running too rich then there should be no probs.

if its rough at idle it may have excess HC's, but as long as the CO is within the correct levels then you can retest the HC's at a faster engine speed IIRC.

ps - how does it drive???

yeah, here it is:

If a vehicle meets the CO requirement at its normal idling speed but fails the HC check, re-check the HC level at a high idle speed of 2000rpm. If the HC reading is 1200 ppm or less, the vehicle will meet both the CO and HC requirements.

. the CO requirement must be met with the engine running at its normal (low) idling speed

. do not use a cold start/cold running mechanism to achieve a high idle speed. Instead, apply light pressure to the throttle pedal.

thats the only part you might get caught out on if the tester isnt aware of it :)

its not uncommon to pass the CO test, but fail the HC test with tuned engines with lumpy cams etc that dont idle too well
