Dont really want to post who I got them off cos some of the traders on here sell them.

Would normaly buy via people on here, but saved a few hundred quid by going to the states for these

Can see me making lots of trips in dartford tunnel very soon! :smash:

WARNING ** Really stupid question coming!! **

So what do these replace? Is it just the down pipes, then onto the cats, then onto your cat-back system? Or do they replace the cats aswell, then straight onto your cat-back system?

downpipes and the cats, straight onto my mongoose!

I always wondered what was a good price for these?

There always for sale on Ebay like Andy said. I have bidded but wasnt sure what to go to....

IMO the cheaper ones aren't exactly all they're cracked up to be :( The design of the pipes (DPs not decats) is critical to the flow, which in turn relates to the power increase. Some of the cheaper pipes I've seen are simply aweful in that the WG dump is at 90 degrees to the flow of the exhaust turbine dump - chances are these will give WORSE results than the stock pipes :( Looking at that pic though, those aren't too badly designed, with a decent collector allowing the flows to merge more efficiently :) Only point would be that the collector is slightly too close to the turbo - could do with keeping the flows seperate for a bit longer :)

Nah Andy, sod the geek mode, this is the stuff we need to know as long as your not talking sh1te.

After all, you could be for all I know!! :D

SO are smithys Greg Dupree downpipes any good or can you recommend some others??

The GD ones are the ultimate ones.... at the moment ;) Deffo most power increase with those by far.

And no, I'm not talking BS ;):D Well, not on here anyway :D

Cool, I'll be saving for those then.

Although I am looking for something better than my Powerflow stainless system and standard manifolds and downpipes. I believe (Correct me if I am wrong) that systems like the single exit HKS Superdragger comes with a large bore system straight from the turbo's? Is this right? If so, what system can I get that will retain my back boxes as I love them, but will bolt from the turbos to my back boxes (TWIN EXIT). Any ideas??

I would love the GD manifolds and downpipes, they look awesome. I had a really good chat with Smithy Yesterday and he says the are the dogs......its a lot of money but can I bolt bigger turbos to them when the time comes as I dont think I'll reach the power I want with the turbos I currently have??

So many questions...I need to get my ass to a meet and talk some talk with people who know the know... :)

Mark, tests have shown that there's no point going any larger than 2.5" diameter on a Z - 3" single is big enough for 900 hp so 2x3" would be 1800hp LOL

All aftermarket systems I've seen are only cat back so they'de simply replace what you already have, minus cat pipes.

The GD manifolds are good for ANY turbo that has the same fitment as the stock turbos - providing they have internal wastegates. You could go as far as a set of PE1820s with these and have turbos that will flow enough for 800rwhp - that enough for you? :D

The parts in the picture above are exactly what you need to remove the resrictions but still keep your powerflow system :)

Does that help?

CheerZ,

Andy

Nope matey mine look the same but are made different, different materials etc etc :)

It seems from the very little amount of reaserch I've just done, that everyone seemd to be showing the same picture ;) .......

The one in the top post here...

The one from andyduff's post, via eBay (ie the one made by Megan Racing)

And the one at GetGreddy.co.uk

So are they all selling the same product?

Just a question, I'm not trying to sugest that anyone is doing anything wrong.

emphesize moment ;)

Pics i used were for demo purposes only

It does indeed!!!

Just what I wanted to hear....

Ok then, final question....

So no other system I buy is going to improve over my stainless powerflow? ie. I dont want over 500bhp to be honest.... :) Well, I want that first and then I'll move on from there!

LOL Spot on Chris ;)

Mark, no you are correct :) The system you have is plenty big enough for what you want - that makes a change dunnit :D

Ive just fitted some of these on my car and the difference is unreal.

Bugger of a job to do though as the top bolts on the drivers side are a nightmare.

LOL Spot on Chris ;)

LMAO  It sure does mate....... :nana2:

Cool, so it'll be GD Manifolds, GD Downpipes, Powerflow centre section and 2 nice 5" pipes on the back that I dont knwo the make of......

Oh, ok then, one final final sneeky question.

You remember whatshisface, errmmmmm, hounddog or somet like that from the states. He ran a 12.5 second 1/4 with about 450bhp but his exhaust system was straight rather than all twisty, is this really beneficial??

If so, what the repersussions of having this kind of system? There must be one or two, its a zed! lol :D

LOL :D Bends in the exhaust system cause restriction, so the straighter the pipes are, the less restriction to flow, it breathes better :) Take a look on:

http://www.specialtyz.com/catbacks.htm

Look at the photos and see how the bends are a lot less aggressive compared to stock. Shows it quite well :)

CheerZ,

Andy

Awesome site that Andy, never thought about stretching out of the UK for bits before, looks like there's quite some expertise on the zeds in other lands.... hmmmmm....

Look at this quote, people with 3" systems dont read on: lol

Piping Diameter

Having had tons of hands on experience and "sit down" chats with engineers. 2.5" piping is recommended on a car like the Z32. One 3" pipe can flow 900 HP, imagine that? We have dual piping and you want 3" piping? We hope you can make 1800 HP! 3" piping is way too big and slows the exit speed of the exhaust. Not to mention it can create unwanted turbulence; loss of low end response & power too. If you insist on 3" we do still offer it.
