In my on-going quest to smooth over every part of the bodywork that is possible to smooth over I'd ideally like to get rid of the external aerial and replace it with either a more discreet external one (ie one that runs up a side of my tinted rear window) or preferably an internal one (if they even exist!).

I know that this is a bit obscure but does anyone know if there are any Zed compatible aftermarket aerials out there that fullfill these requirements?(not digital as I'm trying to keep the cost down! ;))?

Cheers,

Leigh

Keep me informed Leigh as i want the same thing when mine goes in next week :)

Did`nt tattooman have an aerial inside? Im sure he did....

theres absolute bucket loads of internal aerials m8

like anything you get what you pay for, having recently installed a tv aerial

the £20 one was shite, £80 100% better:)

start at places like maplins etc

Yep internal ones are available. I can do them for £10.00 if you want one, stick on the inside of the glass and have an amplifier built in. Work well.

Bob that sounds like a plan ;) What make and model are they mate? Do you think they'd be able to be mounted on the rear window as I mentioned before?

And how quick would you be able to get 'em? ;)

Cheers,

Leigh.

Leigh, I brought on from RS and it plugs into the back of the head unit and goes around the inside of your windscreen, not noticeable if you take your time!! ;) Works pukka and much better than the standard aerial.

Think it was about £6 delivered.

I had my aerial smoothed over!!

Got em sitting on the shelf, shouldn`t be a problem on the back screen as long as you have a connector to join to the original aerial in the boot or an extension peice to run to the head unit.

I have the same internal aerial that Matty bought (got it from Maplins - cost a whopping fiver!). Installed it very discretely along the top and side of the windscreen and it's absolute sh*te. It comes with a screw to ground it but it doesn't do much at all. Get a lot of "static" and as soon as you pass a lorry (or anything else for that matter) reception dies. If I hold my finger on the wire stuck to the windscreen then reception is a heck of a lot better ... Perhaps I've got a duff model, perhaps it's not grounded properly but I would defo agree with a statement made earlier that you get what you pay for.

As I don't use the Zed that often at the moment, and when I do I prefer listening to the lovely sound of my excellent exhaust, I'm in no hurry to change the aerial. I have decided though that I'm upgrading to DAB in the not too distant future (my Alpine headunit is DAB ready aparently).

Let me know how you get on Leigh!

Mine had a great reception.......no problems at all....

Odd...

Lol! Haven't even got a CD player in the damn thing! :D

Bob: Is this it?

If it is I guess I'd ideally be looking for a glass mounted one that's a bit more discreet like the one in the TT.net write up.

Leigh.

Friday, will you be selling your spoiler if you are taking it off? I'm after one in good nic.

Bob: Sorry I haven't gone further with this, I've let it slide as I've been concentrating on getting the bodywork finished! Still interested mate :) Just need clarification on the kind of aerial you stock if that's ok? Is it the "wire" type that you can run up the side of your screen/hide in the A pillar or is it another type? If it's easier to call let me know and I'll give you a bell tomorrow mate.

Cheers,

Leigh.
