Just been reading the 'How Long Have You Owned Your Zed' thread and wondered why do people like the Zed on here.

Is it the looks?

Or is it the Speed?

Or is it the pulling power? ;)

Or somthing else???????????

Personally I like the looks, I know that there are faster and better looking (but only just ;) ) cars out there, but from the moment I first saw one infront of me, with what looked like blown turbos, I just knew I had to have one :D I cant say the speed, as the last time I drove mine it still had the Jap limiter on (now been removed) and ran like a bag of crap if you floored it!!! Hopefully it'll run better now :D

Got to agree all of the above for me too.

It was the looks that initially drew me in, it's been by favourite car for years (had posters on my wall and everything!!) and I still get an adrenaline rush every time I drive it. The awesome power and amazing road presence was obviously attractive to me, a nice plus you might say ;), but deffo the looks that got me hooked. And I love the way pedestrians turn around and stare as you drive by :D :D.

Why is it that we are so willing to keep spending money on them though?!? No matter what needs doing/fixing, I always manage to justify it somehow!!!

Me to Peach started with the looks, loved the power and the attention it got (still does) people in cars 2/3 times the value drool  But now after nearly 4 years its a place I go thats just mine.....Sad I no but WTF. :D

All the previous comments......

Nothing more to add really.

I thought about replacing it with an XKR towards the end of last year, but that would have set me back some £25,000 for a car with near identical performance but not as much presence.

Around here in South Bucks there are XK8s by the shed load - apart from the bonnet vents no-one knows you have the "R" version. The ZX cost me little over £5000 in 2003 and is far more individual, exclusive and all in all the better driver's car.

I can't part with the ZX, I love it so much. When my wife asks how much I love her compared to my ZX I find it hard to answer :x: ..........

.......The ZX costs me less to maintain and doesn't give me half as much hassle, it doesn't get annoyed when I look at another ZX either

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

When I was at school it was my ideal car- looked great, went fast, and it still does. I actually forgot about it completely for about 10 years, then had a minor crisis during which I had a Vision of the Zed! Bought one within a month, and not looked back!

It would be great to go back in time to when they were new and I lusted after one and tell myself that I'd own one! I'd probably have wet myself, at which point Future Me would have slapped crappy Young Me around a bit, given a Wedgy and gone down the pub coz beer was much cheaper then. :duffer:
