Hi Guys.

I picked up my Zed this morning (Jap TT).. I'm still a bit new to it all, lots of previous experience with other performance cars all manuals. So could someone give me a quick rundown on what all the gizmos do on my gearbox.

1) Overdrive

2) TA Switch - Hold, Power and in between.

I've got a vague idea what everything does, but you are the experts, so I'll let you go into detail to put my mind at ease.

Also - What's the most economical setting for pottering around?

Cheers you lot. I'll introduce myself and my car properly once I've got my subscription sorted, and hopefully see a lot of you at the next Midlands meet. I'm from Walsall!

OK.. so if I leave it in HOLD with the Overdrive Off I'll get best mpg.. is that right?

Man, I'm glad I've got a Manwell... :x: Too many buttons for me ;)

Welcome mate.....

Use o/d off for urban driving

o/d on for m'ways etc...

Power button is fun! Holds in gear higher up the rev range.

Hold button...think this is for driving in snow/ice etc

If it's a fresh import, you will need an additional oil cooler for

the autobox, if it's been in the uk for a while it may have one.

But check anyway!

Cheerz....Simon

No - HOLD starts you off in second gear (for use in slippery conditions) and you will be inclined to "give some more welly" to make the car go and therefore using more fuel. Leave the switch in the middle, OD engaged and take it easy with your right foot - that's the best way to control fuel economy. Besides, who buys these cars for their excellent fuel economy anyway? ;)

FYI - switching the button to "Power" will keep the transmission in gear longer and shift at a higher rpm point - making it slightly quicker but not massively.

I'm only down the road in Warwickshire so hopefully meet you soon.

Regards,

Dan

Can't beat the feeling and noise in an auto zed when you're doing 80 on the motorway, you click o/d off, it drops a cog then foot down til you cack yourself :bow::cool::D

Hey I'm not too worried about Economy, but when I'm only doing 30mph for 10 minutes to work, I don't tend to have the Turbos glowing by the time I get there if you get my drift..

I've just moved to the Zed from a 300bhp Supercharged Golf VR6 so I've had shares in BP for quite some time now!

LPG? f00k that!!

Steve J - I'm from Short Heath, it's classed as Willenhall but I'm a Walsall boy through and through!
