I am against 'Safety Cameras' when they are put in places just to generate cash. If they are put in correct places in order to save lives then that is a different story.

I like to drive fast on the motorways and where appropriate but I wouldn't be speeding past a school or where it is dangerous.

When I was going through the lakes for a drive the radio gave a warning that

"Police road safty vans" where on a certain road.

Road safty vans? Dont they mean a van parked on a layby behind a bush with speed cameras poking out of it.?

A while ago (for work) I had to find one of those vans and try to talk to the driver and take photos.

He didn't like me taking pictures of him / his van at all. But they're civilians not coppers so there was nawt he could do!

Wnaker!

:)

the best thing the govment can do is:

a) place cameras in GENUINE danger spots that have a history of accidents.

b) couple the camera with one of those signs that light up warning you of your speed

so, if youre doing say 40 in a 30, itll warn you to slow down. if you ignore it, then you get snapped.

That makes sense Dave but the cameras wouldnt earn revenue this way so the govt wouldnt even consider it. They want our money and they want us off the road via totting up = less congestion.

Funny how they tell us again and again that most ppl support the use of speed cameras, there's 94% against them in that poll and roughly the same in every other independant poll I've ever seen!
