Got a bit of an odd one, my main interior light refuses to work and (after seeing smithys blue conversion) I have realised that my control clusters either side of the steering wheel dont light up either (never have) and also the auto gear numbers which used to work.checked fuses and they are all good (clock and map lights still work and thats on the same fuse as I remember). pulled a couple of the bulbs from the cluster and they are there and intact (may have had a blue conversion done as they have funny little blue rubber covers on them?!?!?!?)

Did a search and other than checking the fuse couldnt find anything that may be the cause.

its a '90 tt auto, if that makes any difference!

Any ideas?

cheers

my right cluster doesnt light up at all...i just took it that the RHS one didnt...Ive modified mine now on the left and changed them to Red LEDs, theres one at the top which apparently lights the heater fan and word Auto on the air con, but this does nothing so not sure about these either...gonna do some more tests at the weekend

Get a circuit tester on it and see if you have any power at all...

just noticed when i was driving home one of the dimmer switch lights was on on the right cluster..gonna fit some new LEDs this weekend and see if its the bulbs...

had a long play yesterday, seems like it was ropey connections and a couple of duff bulbs. The "conversion" that had been done was rubbish the little blue rubber caps blocked nearly all the light from the bulbs that I could get to work.

I have ordered a whole load of LED bits and bobs and will get soldering this weekend! I'll let you know how it goes!! :D

One bulb that will be a bitch to change (I may not bother) is the one which sits in the side of the wiper controls, its really odd, kind of stuck on the end of a rubber stalk!!!

On a similar subject, can you change the Hazard switch lamp? As it doesn't flash when the Hazard switch is on!

im gonna have a go at all of em...by the time i finish theres gonna be more light coming from inside the car than the headlamps, which i guess for these motors doesnt say much :)
