Somebody please help me. :confused: I cant work out why my car is running 5psi. I have checked the ecu and it said that the detonation sensor was playing up so i've cleaned it and i got a code 55 (all clear). Took my car out and still had 5psi. Checked the ecu and still code 55. I had the car in a garage recently and the mechanic said the turbos were fine so I'm stumped. Please help me!!!! :(

boost leak?

Thats not something i wanted to hear. Too many pipes. How would I find where it could be leaking from?

Ok if you have code 55 and all is showing clear it means that the car is not running in safety boost , next thing to check is for as david has said a boost leak , it just a case of going round and checking all the pipes are on and tightly at that , failing that you could have a weak actuator which would cause low boost , firstly I would just check every hose and vac line you can see

edit... ya beat me to it ryan!! listen to baggins he knows best!! :D

 

visual checks on the bigger TB and IC pipes is a good place to start, may even be able to hear them sucking on tickover if its a big enough leak, next step is to whip off your maf and slap a boost leak finding thingy (like a big plug with a tyre valve in the middle of it) into the hole. (lots of people on here have them, may be able to borrow one) then connect up to a compressor (on a low pressure) and listen carefully for the leak!!

 

alternatively book it in with baggins at z-tech and he'll fix it im sure! :)
