Working on a "Z"

Why is it, that any job you do on a Z is never as straight forward as you think?

Been doing a few job's on mine for MOT, and it's been a ball-ache from day one.

Rear brake pipe's, Normal car's, they just run along the axle, or along the chassis where it's dead easy to replace. The Z, to replace rear metal brake pipe's is major surgery, the rear suspension has to be removed, or you got no hope of getting anywhere near to where you want to be.

Steering rack rubbers, any normal car, loosen bolt's securing rack, lift slightley, and replace. The Z, undo rack, undo engine mount's and jack engine up, undo front cross member, drop cross member, and then you can work on replacing rubbers!!

Now I realise, and for those of you who dont know me, im not the smallest person on the planet, and I do have hand's like shovel's, but it seem's that these small jobs have been the bain of my exsistence lately, and im glad to say i've finally finished it.

Roll on the new year, and it's replacement turbo time!!!!

I think you may be a bit bigger than me mate!!!!

Way of the world now to stop small garages working on cars as they are so feckin complicated and as most jobs are a nightmare a lot of people are like ffs that job looks a nightmare, lets put it into the main dealer...only problem is that a lot of main dealers have monkeys (technicians...right) workin for them (not all) and they are like ffs that jobs a nightmare but they have gotta do it and as usually they are over paid underachievers make a horses dick of the job leading to a very pissed off customer.

My 2p's worth......Cheers John Crisp
