Potential rust area...

sorry if this has been posted before, but just passing on what I have found...

Decided to unbolt both front wings at the bottom 2 X 10mm bolts and 4 X self tappers that hold the bottom of the arch liner on..

I wanted to straighten up some damage caused by jacking in the wrong place! :( and as a result the wings kinda bowed out a little towards the sill and it's always bugged me, as I know it's there kinda thing.

Anyhow when I gently pulled the bottom of wing clear of the sill, to my horror, there was a layer about 15mm thick of soil/debris/shite which was damp as it will not dry out!

I cleaned it all off the inside of the wing and the inner sill where the wing sits over, just some small rust bubbles starting to take effect, so cleaned them up treated them to some cavity wax then sprayed the whole thing inside with underseal. Some new S/S bolts aligned the wings up nicely and the jobs a good 'un :duffer: perfect now both sides...

This did'nt take long to do, but I recommend doing it because in time if left it would have rotted the bottom of the wing and the inner sill. Just be careful if you do it that you don't pull the wing out to far obviously or you could have paint flaking off or worse crease the panel...But it's easy to do! :)
