Hi guys, well as you may or may not know I've had my Zed for well over a month now, and have found in that Month that the performance of this car far exceeds safe use of it's full potential on public roads. This being said I started to think about getting the beast to a track and let it's hair down. Then I thought; "What a perfect idea for a meet" I don't know whether this has been done before, but personally I'd love to get some good video footage of the event (already planned out, I can edit etc.) with stats and names overlayed, lap times etc. for those that want to take part ;)

Well, I'm throwing the idea out there, I can organise it if you want or if you have a structured way of going about these things then whoever organises meets can do it I don't mind :) I don't want to step on anyones toes or anything, although from what I've seen it's not like that round here :)

I would be organising this for the Brands Hatch Indy circuit, it has a noise level of 105db and for £180 per car I can get open pit (unlimited 20 min sessions) Track opens at 7:45 am Briefing at 8:30, out on the track from 9am onwards all the way to 5pm :hyper:

I was thinking if one or more of the members from here with good knowledge of the Zed ( I'm thinking Andy Duff levels here ;) ) could come along to a.) help with any small problems that arise on the day and b.) give tinkering advice etc. that would be a great idea. Basically a day where we all meet up and drive our cars how they were designed to be driven, and maybe forge some new friendships for the future as well, prompting more meets hopefully :)

Well, there's a basic outline of what I've been thinking about, let me know what you think.

Jon.

Good idea :) We had a few of us down at kemble airfield in 2001. Was a fantastic day out and certainly gave us the chance to properly thrash the cars - my tyres didn't last too good oh well :D There's a video of it somewhere :)

Go for it but you'll be aiming april/may next year at the earliest now I'd have thought.

Oh yeah, kemble only cost £40 each plus £10 if you wanted to take a passenger ;)

How about a Z only trackday?

spoilsport

ill defo be up for this if its happens in the new year! Would love to have a proper play without worrying about the old bill! :D

And £500 for new tyres, and £80 petrole, and £70 new brakes, and £20 new brake fluid, and £100 engine + gearbox oil change, and £4 for new pants after you lose it at 80mph through a corner but just hang on for dear life.

Sorry to be the voice of doom and gloom but you have to remember the hiddern costs to your car on a track day too. Just worth keeping in mind. ;)

sounds like fun count me in :hyper:

same as, i would be up for it.

Otherwise waiting for japfeast to come around again.

Well, that's a good response :) Or how does the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit sound? It's a little more but personally I'd love to whizz around the track in the Zed, I think after you've driven it, you'd realise just how fecking fast those F1 Cars are...

its the other kind of bill you need to be worried about after thrashing your car round a track lol.

Seriously though, does sound like an excellent idea.

:hyper: Yes Please I'm in :hyper:

think somewhere more central would be a better bet, silverstone could be the one!!

i will look into it and get some prices

kirbz

you can count me in id love to have a go at throwing her into a few bends without worrying about that brick wall lying in wait. :)

Could be up for this, just a thought, but what about here, http://www.mallorypark.co.uk/frames.asp

You can see all the race track from any point around circuit, its not to technical, easy on the brakes and nice straights,a few bends would be ideal especially for those that have not done this type of thing before, and its very central and easy to get to,Silverstone is fine too but will be more costly, and i fancy a change to be honest :)
