not bothering with any of the other candidates.

There's an old saying..."Better the Devil you know..." but Bush scares the living crap out of me, so I'd have to go for Kerry regardless of not knowing much/anything about him.

 

The main politcal debate these days seems to be to accuse Kerry of changing his mind on the Iraq war. Well, seeing as how ALL the 'reasons' we were given for the war turned out to be complete politically fabricated bull-shit then I believe any sane person WOULD change their mind! :slap:

Actually yes I do read a lot of media, It is where most educated people tend to get their information, but I never rely on one source I read & listen to many journalists on both sides of the fence. I tend to trust that a bit more than the bloke down the chippy or Michael Moore :p :rofl:

 

OF course access to Oil is a major factor, ESPECIALLY if they are going to run out in 10yrs (actually 40yrs but hey :p) Lets analogise here

 

You have the biggest machine gun and you have a little food left, you know that you will perish if you don't get a steady supply of food. Now bloke down road has wayyy more food than he will ever need but he only has a catapult, but knows you need the food, so he tries to charge you 50x the going rate for food, you say, oi, sort it out. but not only is he trying to rip you off for the food, he is selling it discounted to others in exchange for bits for his own machine gun that he is planning on building, also being aware that after you and him had a previous scrap & you won, that he has it in for you.

 

Do you wait until he has his machine gun and you and your family are starving to death? or do you wade in before he has a machine gun and make sure that you get the food you need whilst still paying market price for it whilst into the bargain dealing with a wife beating child molestor?

 

(bare in mind this is an analogy!) Simplified economics & tactics, but there are many angles to the whole equation as to why they invaded. That is just one aspect of it.

 

And the whole - 'ah but the goverment lied to us' furore - wake up & smell the coffee! when has ANY goverment ever, anywhere, not fekn lied, I mean ffs. :rolleyes:

 

Of course they massaged the truth to suit their agenda. Have you ever know any goverment to EVER to have done it differently?

 

So what reason do you think that they are doing this? for their own personal gain? or do you think it might be remotely possible that the leaders of western civilisation have our long term interests at heart? I mean it's not as though it's conquest is it? America only cares about America and has no interest in expanding it's borders

 

It's also fair to say that America would not have had these knee jerk reactions if it were not for 9/11.

We're talking politicians which is an other word for Bull sh1t. America is run by Big Business and we are run buy fear of the EU and America so why worry about it. Its all *****x. There would be no difference if my left big toe was ellected President. Well other than my big toe is better looking than both of them, has a higher I.Q., is not in league with U.S. big business (most certainly would be very quickly once elected) and most importantly does not drivel on in an American accent.
