Mines not the greatest, the paints flaked so it either needs repainting, or replacing with the fibreglass version from the Z centre - Has anyone removed their spoiler using the instructions from the TT.NET link and soes anyone have any extra advise to add to this procedure?

Cheers for any pointers!

I used the guide on TT net.

I did it! the sides are held on with those plastic clips, just use brute force to get these off, get a peice of that plastic covered washing line rope and pull it along, worked excellent for me & no paint damage to bootlid.

Pull it along as you are lifting the spoiler, in a kind of cheesewire style. the black gunk sealant stuff, take off as much as you can then the marks left over comes off with loads of WD40.

The double sided sticky tape, I been told to saturate this off with Meths as I still have it on and haven't cleaned it off yet. Waiting on finding a decent bodyshop to fit my new rear spoiler and sort out some minor cosmetics.

How long did it take you to get it off and how many friends did you need to help?!

Did it my self and it took about half an hour to get it off & an hour to clean off the gunk, as I made the mistake of not removing most of it first and the WD40 splattered it all over my boot & down the rear bumper :D

Feckin nightmare to take spoiler off....some psycho had refitted mine with 3 large dollops of Psychoflex (like tiger bond silicone)......took ages to cut through it with a piece of wire then i had to use a rubber 'buffer' in a drill, a rubber round block that removes anything in its path apart from paint.

Just my 2p's worth

Well, its off and just a good bit of pulling with some garedning gloves shifted it, got to get off the sticky tape and then decide what to do.

Preferably, I would like a spoiler that isnt in your face, covers the same area the old oem one did and so hides all the holes the old one used so I dont have to have any work done hiding them, and is easy to fit! Not much eh?!

I'm not really in the mood to put the same oem style one back on though as for all the hassle, it may as well look different!!!

So - I want a cheap, good and easy to fit spoiler!! Anyone got any ideas?

Im a big fan of the spoilerless look myself, but its all down to personal choice really.

A bit too much bodywork needed for that one - gets V expensive on labour.

Bilky i got my spoiler from a scrappie, for not a lot of money, but i jumped in with 2 feet as usual not realising whats involved or the extra expense with paint etc. My next plan of attack is to try and get someone to copy my standard spoiler so i can butcher the copy and sell the old one as its in not too bad nick, hopefully not too much grief to get it copied.

The Z centre sell an exact replica of the standard one in fibreglass - the only difference is it bonds on instead of clips and bolts....
