was jus doin a bit of reading on th Garrett GT range of turbos which are ball bearing turbos (from what i understood). what wasnt clear to me is do garrett use ball bearing in place of journal and bearings? do thy still use normal thrust bearings?

The advantage they have over 270 thrust bearings is that they will handle more psi of boost, the stock turbos only handle 15psi with any sort of longevity!

 

They have little advantage in reducing lag but I believe they reach full max boost quicker than thrust bearing turbos!
