How much have you guys been charged to fit a stainless catback system to yoru cars? no amount of bribes could get the local "chain" tyre and exhaust places to fit it "sorry we dont fit customers own property" and the local kev wheels and exhaust place wants £100 ! is that too much? sounds a lot to me

Featured Replies

I had a cat back system fitted for £20 before as cash in hand, while getting 2 new tyres fitted.

My mechanic fitted my Mongoose, but did it with other work, so dont have a price. But had a system fitted to my old XR4i by SelectaTyre and they were glad to do it for £20.

But £100 sounds very expensive to me.

Thought so! thanks chaps. they guy in the garage waffled on about making sure it all lined up, and some other crap, probably just trying to rip me off, I've decided to bite the bullet and fit it myself, dirty job but somebodys gotta do it....

If you need a hand I'm not far from you, i'm in the Guildford area.

getting the old one off is the time consuming bit, the studs/bolts from the cat get pretty hot and tend to be a bit of a git, drilled mine out in the end and fitted some that wont rust!!

Good luck mate, get it done before winter sets in!!
