YES :hyper: Thanks to GPS

All these clutch problems he has had of late was his clutch and not air in the system as he first thought, the thing has only done 800miles and is goosed:(

So a ride to GPS with the AA and a new clutch was fitted this morning and then off he drove to the TV studios in Manchester.

Don't think it was quite down to him, was talking to him today about his clutch as his was a second hand one he bought and is just under 2 year old and even though the garage diagnosed a clutch problem, they were unable to say what part excatly was faulty as the disc was hardly worn, fortunately ole Ginger one sorted him out  well done to Chris for making it and Johnny for helping him out

Can't wait to see it on the box. :)

How much did it cost to get fixed? Any slight problem with an Auto and its at least £1000. ;)

You sure its not just the release bearing tony???

You sure its not just the release bearing tony???

This was my first thought Andy, but after 3 mins or so it goes, its like a high pitched wine, hard to describe, though it was from front of engine lower down but its more prominent round gearbox area when in car,if you put foot on clutch there is only a very slight change in noise, and i mean very slight, after its warmend up no probs at all,if it was release bearing you would get it every time you changed gear at least would of though, and the release bearing does not spin when not in use by clutch so after talking to MF he sure its the main drive shaft bearing, part number 32203 ,so i got the bearing kit,the reason the noise goes is that the oil in box heats up with bearing and it shuts up,this only does it when Z is cold ,say after 3-4 hours. What you think!,eitherway fookin box got to come out :(

Just to add ,second gear bit notchy till its warmed up too, like clutch still slightly engaged, :(

Still think its the release bearing lol. The beraing is always spinning whether foot on or off the clutch. Mine did the exact same as yours after it had been stood 14 months and I feared the worst. Went away after a while though. Still, it *could* be the input shaft bearing I suppose....

It had a new clutch fitted in may this year, but only done about 1500 miles since, would a new realease bearing of been fitted at same time(depending who fitted it of course  )
