I presume you know about MAME? And there are quite a few guides to making your own cabinet for it (or I think you can buy them).

mr marley you sir are a god.....yep know about mame but i want the real thing and i dont want to make anything i just fancy a couple of them in the house for when the lads are round after piss ups and of course for myself during eve online downtime at the weekends

Well if you've got the cash and you really really like Defender and Scramble, then go for it. I suspect these things will become even more collectors' items as time goes on. Just make sure you aren't going to get bored with them.

 

I used to really like Scramble, but having played it through MAME a fair few times, I've got pretty bored with it. Same with Moon Cresta, Dig Dug, Burnin' Rubber, 1942, Donkey Kong and most of the other games I remember really liking in my youth. Maybe that's because MAME has so many games to choose from, but £1k+ for a single game seems like a lot to me. :eek:

tooley, get your ass down to costco, i was in the one by the trafford centre today and they are now flogging arcade machines. Only one mind but it did have 180 games in it, one of which was defender , also the usual like pac man, donkey kong etc, was around 860 quid, not sure if it was vat on top aswell i cant rember which price i looked at. Might be worth a nose. If it had had ghost n goblins on it i may have been tempted lol
