Topless, I did the same thing to a Ferarri 355 the other week on a sunny Sunday afternoon on my way down to Baggins's place and it felt great. Gotta say though I do like the RX8 it has slowly grown on me....

an rx-8 isent a nice kill thats just easy if you had an n/a then fairplay but a TT will murder audi TTs rx-8s etc

I love the rx8 its a great car, but as for the Z looking out of date, well thats just wrong! (maybe from the rear it looks a bit dated though)

I test drove an RX8 and have to say i loved it.

I pulled into the garage in the 300, and it didnt look out of place though..

 

The RX-8 looks the boooollarks, love the suicide doors. Totally weird how you can pootle around town in 6th!!

 

It was very lively and fairly rapid too, although it did feel a little light.

I really really liked it...

....however when I got back ijnto my Zed I did realise just what a real engine can do.. it felt tons quicker than the RX8

Then again the finance is costing me about the same as the Z did to run, if you average out a new engine every 6 months. :nelson:

 

I'd expect a Z to disappear from about 90 onwards... it pulls OK in 4th but not the same way the Z did. Unfortunately the ton is just out of reach for 3rd. :(

 

I'll let you know what the top of 5th is like when I'm back from me hols - I intend to find out between Bonn and Stuttgart. :D

And I bet none of you are interested in head-to-head on a track because we all know who will win that...

PS I see what you mean about timeless designs... the RX is a very 200x coupe deisgn and I expect will look that way come 2015. (If you look at it there's a lot of almost-flame-surfacing language in it which is a passing fad.)

 

The Z is more a supercar look which is timeless.

Hard to explain but I'll give it a go (all IMHO, of course). The RX-8 has been designed to stand out from today's crowd but to my mind it's more of an evolution of the design work of recent years i.e. it's different but you can almost see its genes, and it'll stand out without upsetting any sensibilities.

 

Because of this, it makes it very "of the now" which will look "very 2003" in 2013 (probably).

IMO the RX8 looks a bit of a mess it seems like they have looked through the demon tweeks catalogue and stuck on every body accessory going :slap:
