I know you're having problems with your Zed mate, and was wondering if you can recommend a good garage to take mine too. That goes for anyone else in the area as well :) Someone you trust that knows their way around a Zed because I sure as hell don't :(

I've tried the things suggested in my help/advice thread but to no avail. I'd like to get it checked over by a pro, and fix the problems before they get any worse :(

Thanks in advance,

Jon.

Maldon's only about 15 miles from me that's brilliant cheers.

Well, I'm sure it's nothing but I don't know how to fix it,

The only real problems are

1. Whining from the gearbox in 1st and 2nd.

2. Vibrations from the rear (getting worse every day)

3. Engine tapping noise, and now it sounds like a Subaru, rather than a nice smooth sound before under acceleration.

The other things I can do myself I think, but these three things are getting worse and I'm worried it's gonna blow up on me the next time I put my foot down... erk

Gerbox could be anything but I would get that checked by a gearbox specialist as will probably be cheaper.

vibration is likely to be balance of wheels or warped disc/s

Tapping, put thicker oil in to start as this cures everything. if it is a tapping then it might well be hydraulic tappets, Have you tried the long screwdriver, sharp end on engine, blunt end in your ear (can try the other way if you want!) to see where the sound is comming from?
