Well - had a phone call from the guy who bought my Zed (I have urged him to join here). Well he told me he had a problem with one of the cylinders - apparently a spark plug broke off and damaged it -so its down on compression. God knows how that happened, new plugs were put in when I bought the car.

 

Poor guy - he's been quoted £800 for the repair job.

Bloody hell,tho not uncommon,have been witness to this and had tales from others on this happening,tho in one case 5 out of 6 disintergrated and fooked the engine big time,i take it they checked the cylinder with an endiscope etc,lets hope theres not more bits in there somewhere,maybe was very lucky with the particles getting out through exhaust valve and missed the tub impellars :(

You do right Geoff,get him on here and someone will sort him,for a lot less than that as well I would imagine!

hi everybody hi geoff i'm so glad that i found the time to join the forum at last.i am so busy looking for a good garage where i can fix the car. Like you said a spark plug broke off inside and done some damage.I went to a garage and they've done a compression test and there is no compression on that piston.They said it can be the piston whith the rings or the valves. I found a garage a bit more cheaper(£600-just to see exactly what is wrong) but is not like a big garage so i dont realy trust them. I'm so upset right now i dont know what to do so if anybody can help me pleeeease send me a message. THANK YOU ALL

give me a shout if you want mate can do it much cheaper than you have been quoted although may be a few weeks as have other cars booked in
