They stopped selling them in the UK in 1994 - reason ? tighter emissions legislation meant it would have been difficult and restrictive to make the cars conform. Result ? Older Zeds have lower emissions limits in MOTs.

 

Consequence ? If you want a high powered car, it will chuck out more pollutants. Therefore, it should be much easier and less restrictive to have an older high performance car, where you can boost power with little restriction of tighter emissions regs.

 

Am I right ? And like the argument for buying land..."they aint making anymore"!!

Why does he want to chuck out more pollutants? Oh, I see... he's from the Wirral so anything Zeds can do to improve the sludge he breathes has to be a good thing.

I dont give my car any stick, i've never slated it, ive loved that car and its probably been one of the most rliable on this forum.

 

im both gutted its going and not, gutted because i really really think they are a fantastice car, not so gutted as i have bought a fantastic car to replace it. The zed will not be a good track carm and thats what i want to get into, plus ive taken the zed as far as i can justify on the mod front, i cant justify the x grand for 2 bigger turbos, 2 head gaskets, 6 pistons, six conrods, six injectors, plus labour: shock:

 

each to their own and i will miss the zed, especially getting the roof off... dont start me i'll well up!!

It's worth more to me than cash, TBH anything under 7k IMHO would be giving it away compared to what it is worth to me!

 

I decided, going to upgrade the Accord to a newer model, get a new toy also and keep the Z forever as a class car, never gonna part with it!

Very true mate, i don't know how either but it happens! My prev cars i've sold, after many $0000 pounds spent and loving hours put into them, I have been gutted to get rid, sometimes darn upset. I love me Z its probably sad as ****, but even that time I went to get rid and sell all the bits (you may or may not remember the post) I just couldnt do it in the end, and had to fix her up!!! It seems to grab me by the strings mate and tug, its a ****ing lovely car, and I just cant seem to go against it now no matter what!

for what ever reason the zed didnt make it into the cat database, therefore it is tested as a non cat vehicle.

 

however a stock zed in good working condition would easily pass the cat test anyway :)
