Anita Luckett (Ajay) has decided to stand down as Club Treasurer so the Club needs to find a replacement. As a member of the Club’s committee the Treasurer is an important position and requires a proactive individual who can devote the time and energy to successfully carry out the role. The Treasurer’s responsibilities include:

 

* Maintaining clear and accurate records of the Club’s finances including bank account, income, expenditure and petty cash

* Holding the Club’s cheque book, paying-in book, invoices and receipts

* Providing statements for all committee meetings on the Club’s current financial status

* Submitting End Of Year Accounts to the Club auditor at least two weeks prior to the AGM

* Advise the Club on the financial viability of any proposed meets or events that could draw on the Club's financial reserves

* Provide cheques on behalf of the Club as approved by the Committee

* Liaising with the Club’s officers on all aspects the Club’s operations

* Working closely with the Membership Secretary to ensure the smooth running of membership applications and renewals

* Paying in to a Lloyds TSB Bank on at least a weekly basis

 

Nominations are requested now for candidates for the position of Club Treasurer for the election by full members by forum poll starting on the 18th August and finishing on the 31st August. The successful candidate will be announced on the forum.

 

The nominations are open to candidates who are full (subscribed) members of the Club. Prospective candidates should nominate themselves in this post and must include the names of two other full members who support the nomination. The prospective candidate must also supply via PM to the Club Chairman (AndrewG) a short statement of why they feel that they are suitable for the role. When the election starts on the 18th August the forum poll will include the list of candidates along with their short statements for doing the role. Voting members can then read and decide.

OK, have thought about this for a while and am prepared to nominate myself, seconded by Macca and Mike Groves. (Mike, if I've jumped to any conclusions then please say so!)

 

There doesn't exactly seem to have been a rush for this post, so if anyone else wishes to stand then please say so ASAP.

 

Should I be sucessful then I would stand down as Technical Officer, leaving that role open to someone new.
