Whats wrong with all these lads with thier heavily modded saxos and fiestas etc, or more to the point whats wrong with thier cars?

Im stuck in my '88 mk2 golf gti (completely stock, even down to original steel wheels!!) and I still blow them away all the time. I would have thought with a chip, exhaust and decent air filter they would be able to whoop the old girl good and proper...

One of the problems is they think wheel spining is a fine art that only good drivers can do. Rather then the bigest display of no controle over your car that it realy is.

That and the fact none of them actualy know what tuning a car is, they will buy a chip and have no idea what it does (But it WILL GIVE ME AN EXTRA 100BHP), buy an exhaust just because it is the loudest (ANOTHER 100BHP THERE), buy a filter cos it sounds cool (ANOTHER 100BHP), and put massive wings on them that cause more uplift than anything else (CAN TAKE 90' CORNERS AT 220MPH NOW). And after they have spent over £30k on their little Saxo, it is still just a little Saxo. :xxx:

I know wot you mean mate. I was in the zed last nite and on my way home from Southend and this little t**t in a corsa just sat on my ass. When i let him passed he cud only just see over the steering wheel!

Hanksy

I bet all you could see was his burberry baseball cap over teh wheel ;) !

I've got a diesel Saxo as my daily driver but for some reason I feel like a complete t**t in it :xxx:

I have never even wanted to be seen in it, never mind show off in it :D LOL

had a plonker with a baseball cap in his 'E' reg vw JETTA trying race me lastnight!?! WTF?? is there no helpline for these twats to call up n get their pea's 4 brains checked up on...

Thing is they take a 1.1 saxo/corsa/fiesta and spend a big wad of cash on it TRYING to make it look good and up the BHP, buy the time they have finish they have reilized 3 things:

1: the car is still only a saxo/corsa/fiesta

2: The car's BHP is lower than a standard 1.6 saxo/corsa/fiesta even after spending £3000. add that to the cost of buying the 1.1 and they have spent an extra £2000, why not buy a 1.6 to start with????

3: IT'S NOT A Z

But even after all this they still think that they can "ave it with anything on the road" :xxx:

And as takemetothepub has already stated they have no control over thier car's, what's more it's the little T**T like this that give the car modding sceen a really bad name. :(

The sadest thing of all is that one day one of these little kid are gonna kill someone with thier lack of skill and experiance. :nono:

Myself and a mate were going out yesterday along the catrham bends, a local fast set of sweeping bends. I was in my Mitsi Galant. I know the road really well and could (if on a similiar test track) take the first three corners at upwards of ninety in a car. While approaching the first bend a Golf GTi is up the back of me, now I am sitting at afew miles below "optimum speed" and thought fair play, and let him past. The silly little twat nearly lost the car on the bend (which has a waist height concrete divider), he was all over the place. Scary thing was thr "little person on board" sticker on the back window. Made me wonder if he put that there so people would know to look for a kid whilst searching the wreckage.

Had a Chava overtake me just outside rochford on hall road just befor chary orchard road. road bends left and he went strait on, lucky nothing was coming the other way. left him in the feild where he should stay lol

Ahhh that makes sense, I didnt realise anybody would actually spend money on those cars, I just assumed they were VTR or VTS models....

I think that may have been referring to the driver.

I normally let tw@ts like that pass too - better they feck off and kill themselves rather than take me with them.....

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

True - all to be "an individual"

Why not buy an individual car instead? There are millions of Paxos on the road ??

I remember reading about some tw@t that did exactly this - why did he not buy something like a TVR in the first place? Fast straight out of the box, cool sound, looks etc.....

.....and with those mods on his Paxo I bet the stock TVR would cost less to insure too

I also remember the editor of Fast Car saying he too would rather have that £30k modded Saxo than stock Evo ?? Now leaving his job aside ( ) what true petrol head would really say/mean that?

Yup I agree 100%. Part of the reason I have a zed, dont see many around do you, I know I get all excited whenever I see another one!

Everybody had renault 5 turbos when I was a lad, so I went straight out and got a silvia instead!!

When I started driving at 17 (1987) all of my contemporaries were buying Mk1 and Mk2 escorts. Others had Cortinas if they wanted a bigger car, so I got a Mk1 Cavalier coupe, then a Manta. When we were a little older/wealthier they were into XR3is so I had a Cav SRi and a Celica.

Exactly why I had a couple of Mk3 Soops and now a ZX too
